This beer comes to me from @SomethingClever, perhaps by way of @LeperJim (unbeknownst to both of us)...

Mommy and Daddy were "discussing" things last night (I'll let them "discuss" who is who ), so I felt I needed a second big beer this AM.

The vanilla didn't grab me, and I got a mild nutty, true cola impression (maple seemed to add the syrup aspect to this) than the chocolate the bottle states. Bourbon presence in the nose was nicely more subdued in the taste.

Good morning, BAs! After an incredibly long and stressful "day," I'm actually joining you later than I originally anticipated. Nonetheless, all's well and I've got a wonderful beer in my glass.

No, @SomethingClever gave me one as well. It's also highly unlikely I would never give one of those away even unknowingly! Not even to the Maple King @WesMantooth ...well maybe, since I also got one from Wes a while ago.

Morning all! I see @JakeScully has issued a challenge so I'll do my part. Enjoying a benediktiner helles while cleaning and doing some work around the house.

    Also, I'm using a new summer glass I got - I'm a bit worried I'm infringing on @DoctorZombies identity :stuck_out_tongue:

Haven't seen Chouffe Houblon with 'IPA' added to the label around here yet.
I'm looking forward to try their Cherry Chouffe (not seen around here either), based on Mc Chouffe.

This beer is courtesy of @BJB13 - who gifted them to us in our meet up with @DoctorZombies on Thursday. This beer is available around me, but I usually pass it up, as I do most non-German Hefes. I might have a Hefe at a brewery in a sampler, but rarely does it ever stand out amongst the other brews.

So, will I order this again? Probably not. Might I buy a six-pack for the house? Maybe. Will I buy it to take to a party where I believe there might be people open to "good beer?" Sure.

I noticed a little tangy tartness in this that I should've figured out if I were paying a half an ounce of attention to the label was probably from the orange that is used. It didn't come across as orange, and did cut and balance the normal wheat/banana notes of the beer. Not too shabby, at all! Thanks, @BJB13!!

    #strive4tenplusfive (wow - that's stupid, but I'm helping...)
