For what it's worth, even though I still think dropping the limit was dumb, I got cans no problem about twenty minutes ago. Somehow, this turned out to be pretty well-run.

Smooth day at More today. Very quick line bc of cash only, perfect size space with servers and bartenders like a proper restaurant. I would estimate More was moving at 20 secs per transaction for to-go orders as opposed to 90+ secs per person at a recently opened music themed brewery.

Shaun came and talked to our table for 5 mins and said the beers in the fermenter now are already getting dialed based on what he has learned from the 3 offerings today. I enjoyed the 3 hazy beers today, but def room for improvement. Give this place 2 months and it's gonna be top notch.

Glad I went early, bottle shared and met some people. Fun place.

When I left at 1:30, I would say half of the original amount of cans was left. Plenty left for today and tomorrow I would (amaturely) estimate.

I got there a little before 10 this morning. Was maybe 100 or so back from the front. Was most surprised by the amount of open containers in the presence of police. They could have made a mint writing tickets.

I was picking up beer shortly after 11. Making it cash only keeps the line moving at a good pace. I was able to get a seat up at the bar around 11:30. Original can line was finished shortly after that, definitely before noon. Very nice spot with a good amount of seating. Bar is kind of short, but plenty of tables.

Had a pour of each of the canned beer. All very good, none were Shaun's best in my opinion (still very good). My favorite was probably Loose Candies. Very juicy and tropical. I was most surprised by the amount of flavor Dusty packed for a pale ale though. Can't wait for what he churns out over the next couple months. Even though it's a bit of a drive from Chicago, I'll definitely be out in Villa Park again. Overall, a smooth release with some great beers. No complaints.

Popped my first more offering, dusty, NE style pale ale. Awesome haze. Soft on the pallate, but just a tinge of bite on the back end, which I like. Tropical fruits throughout. I hear most people have preffered loose candies or chemical connection, which I will try next, but this is a wonderful first impression for a grand opening. Excited for what's to come. Cheers all.

Took me all of 30 seconds to pick up one of each at 2:30. Looked like they had a ton left at that point. Couldn't have been easier and I suspect they knew what they were doing dropping the limits. Congrats to Shawn on what I have to believe was a great first day.

    I resent being called a me-first database.

More seriously, if there's no prohibition against going back into line then you can't double dip. Man, the beer police are so ready to issue citations these days....

I know it was said before, but $17 for a 4pk is absolutely nuts. I thought Mikerphone was overpriced. wow.

    LOL

More is $.26 per ounce (1700/64)
Mikerphone is $.52 per ounce (1300/25)

Mikerphone is literally double the price per ounce.

$17 is about right for a 4pk of 16oz cans of super hopped beer

Also cans versus 750mL bomber. I would takes cans all day over bombers for IPAs.

I'm curious. What 4pk of 16oz cans are you buying that is $17?

That's about $15 + taxes in Chicago. So all the Half Acre DIPA's, Enjoy By cans and Hop Slam (6 pack), to name a few.

edit: Todd the Axman, any BA stout, Scottish ale, porter, etc

Regarding pricing, @BJP (brewer from Forbidden Root) gave some insight into just how much more expensive these beers are to brew when compared to a traditional IPA over in the Chicagoland NE style IPA thread.

    Edit: here is the post

I was shocked (in a great way) when i was charged $44 for 4 crowlers of Juicebox at Corridor the other night. I swear that's about $5-$6 cheaper than what Noon Whistle charges.

Was in and out within 4 minutes. Great service, couldn't have been easier. It looks like a great location too. Still quite a bit of cans left

I think the growlers were only $5 or $6 more if you had your own jug, so thats 100% more product for 50% more $'s. You know we probably should not talk about it so much because everybody will want to go there. LOL

As someone who grew up in Villa Park, VP cops are pretty chill. Lombard and Elmhurst are a very different story.
