Forbidden Root has established themselves worthy of their own thread by consistently putting out great beers.

Just a reminder that today is the release of Radio Swan cans. Big ups to @BJP for doing a great job down at Forbidden Root.

Hazy beers get all the hype, but last time I was there the Pils and Grisette stole the show by a wide margin. Burger is most excellent as well.

Totally agree with you, which is why they needed a thread. Their strawberry basil hef is fire!!!!!! And their food is beyond delicious.

I'll second their strawberry basil hefe. That's a summer crusher.

I'm a pretty big fan of their German cake stout, Keine Krümel. Flies under the radar, in my opinion.

And Mike's right, that hef is surprisingly delicious.

Didn't Forbidden Root bottle a "NE IPA" in bombers at one point? I thought I remembered having one but I'm drawing a blank on the name.

    @BJP am I crazy?

Strawberry hef is excellent, amongst many others. Burger is killer. Surprised no one has mentioned fried giardiniera yet...That's some fatty deliciousness right there.

I think he had said that there was bomber run of the Boochies some time back.

It definitely was ... I actually got a Snoochie bomber and a Death by Snu Snu (now Atomic Child) howler delivered via Caviar with my dinner one night. Which is a good reminder: they've got great food and quite a few beers available for delivery in growlers as well as some of the packaged stuff. (but highly doubt limited releases like Radio Swan would be)

I second that Kein Krumel, and I'm pretty sure I saw it growler priced at $18 I believe. Which is a effin steal in my opinion.

Thanks for starting a new thread...I'd say it was overdue.

As far as the non-NEIPA beers from Forbidden Root, I have only had Money on My Rind. I believe it was selected last summer by Josh Noel as one of the beers to try over the summer months. I bought a six pack, and I really did enjoy it. Maybe if I stopped obsessing with all the other "hot" stuff going on, I'd get more of that or try some of their other beers that people speak highly of.

I'm actually thinking about taking my family over to FR for a lunch on Saturday, which would involve kids. I got the sense it would be OK to bring kids along for a lunch on the weekends.

Just FYI, I have and there was at least one other family there with very young kids running around.

Hated their beers when I had them a couple of years ago.

Now I drink here a couple of times a week. I don't what changed me or them but I love that it is 4 block from our house.

Awesome beer, awesome staff, awesome food, cans are fire.

So excited to see what they continue to put out.

I agree above the grisette is awesome.

Won't be able to make this release. Anyone know if Snoochie hit Binnys when it was distributed? If so, which locations saw it?

Very few tables open. Good showing of people.

I'm here almost every week and am surprised by the death metal playing. Don't recall hearing this over the speakers before...
