Hold on to your hats ladies and gentlemen. Looks like a Milkshake Sunday release.

I think it's also totally reasonable to say that maybe I was just picking up more of the polenta as the beer warmed. I don't think it's a huge leap from cornmeal to pop-corn as far as flavor profiles in a polenta beer go. Maybe I transferred this into a buttered popcorn taste, or maybe there was diacetyl. I don't think I'll be trying it again, so it's pretty inconsequential after a single tasting at brunch.

Cheers to the buttered pop-corn IPA, a brand new culinary spin on a traditional style!

It really comes down to whether you perceived a buttery flavor. I have brewed plenty with corn and in those beers has never been anything that resembles "buttery" in those beers.

    Cheers!

I do too when it comes to corn on the cob.

You should buy stock in Old Speckled Hen.

I've never had polenta that tasted like butter. Corn and butter are distinct flavors.

I prefer my Polenta with a nice pat of grass fed butter. Flawless...

Are the Ardmore parking cops out in full force on Sunday mornings, or is that just for the weekday releases?

Sundays are free parking I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

So I am no beer taster and I only know diacetyl from it being thrown around and having thought I tasted it a few times. So, for clarification, is the butter quality of diacetyl an actual flavor profile or a greasy mouthfeel? Or a combination of both?

    Thanks!

    Yes it is.

In the recent past the artificial butter flavor that was 'squirted' on movie popcorn was diacetyl.

    Cheers!

Thoughts on the Schwarzbier? I picked some up, but haven't had an opportunity to try it yet.

Really good for the style. Flavorful, but a bit thin.

Is there any left behind the bar? Might try and stop after work tonight

It's probably safe to say that it'll last until tonight behind the bar. Alien Church won't, but based on previous non-ipa offerings, I can say this probably will.

Believer's Club email (apparently) indicated that there would be new bottles for sale today (grissette) and next Friday (PurPec), but it's wierd that they haven't posted anything about it yet. Sounded more like a General Store release but I was curious to hear details.

Also, old Paras and beers like Negative Creep were on the General Store shelves yesterday but are gone already. Hope they do that again, sometime.
