A bit early for me but after 2 hours of yardwork in the blazing heat why not. Flying fish exit 4 American tripel,a bit odd to me but well done. Basically a tripel meets ipa. It's well done because the taste of both is clearly there

Ghost Pony Helles at the local brew pub, an excellent choice on a hot day.

Bridges of Poplar Creek CC in Hoffman Estates IL (otherwise known as Chicago 'burbs) for a customer golf outing, H-U-M-I-D outside, so need to hydrate. This is Fist City from Revolution, an outstanding APA, IMHO. Love this beer.

Think I'll hop on out to lunch . . .

Aroma of dank hops which is a term I rarely use but it fits here. I also get some hits of resin and something like grapefruit rind. No malt to speak of.

Taste is hop city which isn't surprising at 87 IBU. Don't know if I can taste hop levels that high but if I can this is my limit. Not flavor limit, I rather like it, just as far as my palate will wander in the hop shock department. I am noticing more grapefruit influence as the taste builds (and build it does) toward the finish. Surprisingly little bitterness for this hop level, I've had a much more bitter bite from lower IBU brews, and there seems to be a richness to the hop intensity.

Beer time after driving around in a monsoon earlier this morning. We got a couple of weeks worth of rain in two hours. At least the plants are happy and I don't have to water today. A comfy breeze is making this rather humid day more tolerable. Keep your eye on the prize, it's almost Friday!

Next up is a homebrew dunkelweizen. We brewed this last summer and I have two - now one - left. We'll drink the final one tomorrow when brewing this year's beers.

Glad I drank most of these fresh, it is still nice, but doesn't have quite the pop it did fresh. Still mild banana and clove esters along with the malty, toasty, bready qualities.

Cheers to a great weekend BAs!

Having some fun with an Alien Church side by side tasting. On can is from 6/21/17 and the other is from yesterday. I did not check which dated went into which glass until I felt ready to guess which was fresher. The one on the right smells a lot more tropical where the one on the left is danker. After sipping them it was very hard to tell, but the one on the left was slightly brighter and a touch less bitter. My guess was the one on the left is the fresh can and the left is a month old. After looking at the dates, I was right. Either way I win, cheers!

These pretzels are making me thirsty. Looks good. From that label I never would have guessed Bissel Brothers. They seem to always have such a consistent look.

I'll tell you, one of the saddest things to being a native Wyomingite beer-lover is ending up randomly on the east coast (-ish), hearing that your beloved state is cranking out the next amazing IPA, and then trying it and being disappointed that it isn't more amazing like the ones back east. I agree about the malt. I do like malt to be noticeable on the whole, but paired with a sweeter/juicier hop profile it always comes off as too sweet for my tastes. Great tune as well!!

I'm not a fan of the pouring to the rim trend (or whatever your consider it) but it's pretty cool how closely the top of your glass aligns with the water reflection. It almost makes the glass look fake!

I don't want to get political but I find that really repulsive (and I'm not talking about the beer itself). Cheers regardless :grinning:
