It's been a while since I led off.
No golf today (I am golfed out after 6 rounds in 7 days)
I need to do some clean-up after Thursday's brief but intense storm.
    Here's to the weekend!

Starting with an Imperial Stout (with hot chillies not less) at 7am is clearly the way to go. Cheers to you!

I'm now very tempted to copy you, albeit with something of the bourbon-barrel-aged variety.

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Not much going on today. Supposed to storm sometime later today, but it didn't happen last night like they forecasted. Might get my lease renewed at the office today. My rent didn't go up very much this year, so I feel fine staying for another year where I am. Was working on finding a more permanent living condition, but everything I found was still more expensive than what I am doing now. Maybe next year.

Haven't had this is a long time. Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with light caramel, toasted bread malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Light-medium body and very crisp; sticky/resin/rindy mouthfeel with a fair amount of grainy malts. Increasing resin/rind dryness, with a bit of hop astringency. Very vibrant and dank hops, with solid malt presence for the ABV. Feels more aggressive and resinous than I remember, but still deliciouis. I will have to pick up a 6 pack next time I go to Ohio. Will update my review with a fresh bottle. This didn't live up to what I remember.

World class saison. Finally found a super fresh pack this week. Flavors of lemon zest, grapefruit, pear, pineapple, peach, melon, orange peel, pepper, and clove; with moderate wheat, cracker, bready malt; floral/grassy hop and yeast earthiness. Good sized peppery yeast spice with some floral/grassy bitterness. Smooth/crisp finish; with some bready wheat creaminess and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Medium-high carbonation with nice crisp dryness, but not bone dry/prickly. Refreshingly smooth for the ABV. My new favorite go-to saison now that Boulevard came here last year. It is still amazing with some age on it, but I love it fresh to get all of the hop vibrancy in combo with the yeast character.

Incredible old ale as always, finally breaking into the Jan 2016 batch for the first time. Flavors of caramel, brown sugar, raisin, plum, fig, date, cherry, apple, toasted oak, toffee, and molasses; with lighter notes of nutty biscuit, chocolate, oaken vanilla, leather, and tobacco. Light-moderate herbal/floral bitterness and spicy oak on the finish. Creamy/silky medium-full body mouthfeel. Lightly drying from hop bitterness and oak tannins. Tons of well rounded complexity across the board. Very smooth sipping for the ABV, mild warming finish. One of my favorite easily available Old Ales of all time. I prefer this with a year or more of age. It just keeps getting better.

WOW! This is mind blowing amazing. Flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, caramel, molasses, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of raisins, cherries, licorice, and smoke. Light roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spice on the finish. Amazing bittersweet balanced flavors. Very full bodied bready/creamy/silky mouthfeel; with some light sticky/chalky roast and tannic oak notes as well. Pleasingly warming finish, minimal booziness for 14.3%(in the aromas or flavors to boot). Lightly drying from chalky roast and bourbon/oak tannin. Dangerously smooth sipper. Really glad I grabbed another one of these while I could. Will definitely get it again if/when they release it later this year. A seriously top tier BBA Coffee stout all around.

Peaches for breakfast? Sure, why not . . .

Appearance is a hazy medium yellow with white cap and lacing.

Clean aroma of ripe peach and little else.

Taste is flawed, nothing like the scent. Peach, yes, but not a ripe one or even fresh for that matter. It's as if the brewer used peach peels or skins for flavoring and the brewing extracted some bitterness from them. Could be hops but it's a disjointed juxtaposition of flavors. The underlying wheat ale is very mild and seems to serve primarily as a carrier for the peach.

Not their best effort I'm afraid. If I hadn't paid good money for this I wouldn't even finish it.

Apparently I missed a few pages last night...
Nickelback isn't DnD game time music.

Maybe that's why someone set the bar so low at 12 pages. I figure we had "Mission Accomplished" and went and got my dice and Coldplay soundtracks.

... so I could get up early to watch The British Open and enjoy a beer I agent placed in my stomach in a while:

Big Bad Baptist - not sure why I don't have this more regularly. Might need to thin my cellar and do a vertical on my next purchase.

I said I'd have something bourbon barrel aged but couldn't quite pull it off so early on in the day. Starting off with something much lighter instead: A sour Saison from Jolly Pumpkin with added chestnuts, a trend introduced by Italian craft brewers (hence the Italian name). Aged on oak.

Well, for me, it's Go Pats Go!
Regardless, I have always had a big soft spot for most things New Orleans in my heart. Food (craw fish being major part) and music being a big part.
Visited the town just post Katrina and was moved.
    Fell in love since then.
    Cheers.

I agree totally. Every sip of this beauty reminds me of what a well crafted beer is.
Awesome head retention and lacing, Layers of flavor, lingering finish and amazing mouthfeel.
Delivers every time for me. Which is why I have at least 4 to 6 bottles each of Abt 12 and Rochefort 10 in my cellar ALWAYS!
