Good Morning BA, have a great Sunday! Another normal day for me. Bottle returns, laundry, and a bit of catch up work and emails for tomorrow. Meeting up with a friend for a IP trade later today.

Incredible American porter as always. Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toasted dark bread, and light smoke/charred malts; with some balancing herbal/spicy hop flavors. Moderate herbal/spicy hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Great creamy/silky medium body mouthfeel; some light hop stickiness and chalky roast as well. Lightly increasing roasted dryness. Always amazing stuff. Pretty much the perfect definition of the American porter style. Will always be a top favorite.

Incredible DIPA! Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, and pine hops; with moderate caramel/toasted bread malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; crisp, sticky, resinous and fairly creamy/grainy balanced mouthfeel. Strong increasing resin dryness, no lingering hop astringency. This was one of the first DIPAs way back 6 years ago to really blow me away, and I think it is still just as amazing; even though my rating numbers have shifted overall to lower scores over time. I love C hops and Simcoe any day of the week. Just found a fresh batch yesterday and grabbed a random single, will definitely grab a full 6 pack after I finish up the Alpine Duet I got last weekend. Glad to see GF/Alpine being more reliably fresh lately.

2015 is tasting insane as usual. Huge flavors of caramel, raisin, cherry, fig, date, apricot, apple, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, bourbon, and toasted oak; with light notes of molasses, vanilla, and coconut. Light balancing bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish against the sweetness. Minimal warming ABV or barrel booziness. Very smooth sipping; with a very creamy, silky, and slightly slick/syrupy full body mouthfeel. Touch of drying bourbon/oak tannins. Love this the most after at least 1 year of age to smooth out the boozy barrel notes. Perfectly balanced. Grabbed 2 more packs of 2015 off the shelf only a few months ago. Love that just sits on the shelf, one of my favorite cellar beers ever. Got a single of Cinnsanity I still need to review as well.

This is insane! Flavors of lightly tart blueberries, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, fudge, vanilla, toasted coconut, bourbon, oak, and dark bread; with some lighter notes of molasses, licorice, and raisins. Light roasted bitterness and fruit tartness on the finish. Full bodied with an amazing creamy/silky/rich mouthfeel. Some light roast malt chalkiness and fruit acidity; touch of dryness from both. Never cloyingly sweet, but definitely a dessert beer. Amazingly smooth, minimally warming 10.5%. A near perfect balance of berries, cocoa/vanilla, malt, and barrel character. Tons of flavor complexity, and it all comes together extremely well. I've always been a big fan of fruit stouts, so I'm not surprised how much I loved this one. Seems pretty polarizing to most people, but this is one of my favorites from last year. This is the 5th bomber I've had, and I have 4 more in the cellar. I keep grabbing these randomly every time I see them, just got another one yesterday. Well worth the price. Still plenty of Mango Magnifico around too, though not nearly as amazing. I will have to check another one out soon to see how it's aging. I recall being a pretty big fan of it.

Apparently BDM is on schedule for a new LP this fall. Looking forward to it.

Easily one of my favorite albums of the year. Hour of Penance has been nailing it every time since the 2008 release of the Vile Conception. Not a huge fan of the previous albums.

Been waiting a long time to try this bad boy. A friend happened to be in Ukraine for work when I heard about Trump Imperial Mexican Lager being brewed there and he made a special trip for it. The beer itself was meh, although he says he liked it better the first time he tried it a month ago. Extra points for packaging though! (Is that what the "Appearance" rating refers to?)

So it appears the label in Norway for Two Captains says Double IPA but the label on the Two Captains I posted yesterday says NORWEGIAN ALE as @lordofthewiens pointed out. I wonder if that is because consumers in the United States may be scared off by an IPA that probably is not going to be very fresh by the time they see it on the shelf.
