Interesting indeed. Anyone else? Also wonder if anyone has the Windy Bloger cans that @oN3xM mentioned and what's on the bottom of them...

I'm with you. I still love them but I'm really slowing down on my hunting.

Forgot to mention--I finally made it over to Old Irving this past weekend, and tried their NE IPA, Trendii. It's probably not going to be a hit with this thread, because it's a little sweeter than I'd like, and the hops aren't as clear as I prefer, but it's good. Given that this is only (I think) their second try on the style, I have high hopes, because it's still a solid and perfectly enjoyable NE beer.

The place in general was great, and had really friendly staff. Definitely looking forward to going back, and hopefully monitoring their hazy progression.

also--there are new emojis here? who knew?!?

Bottom of my Windy Hill can says Southern Cross Wakatu. The Windy Hill cans at TOB were from a second IL drop. The first IL drop was Simcoe & Amarillo hops, the second drop obviously Southern Cross & Wakatu hops, which explains why your experience has been different

Forgot to mention, but Solemn Oath's Strange Old Woods release went really well on Friday. Was sold out by 10:30am or so Sat morning. Very tasty beer, good color and mouthfeel. Taste was excellent.

Last time I went they said they will only fill their own growlers, and don't have howlers so...

Hmm, can you freeze an NEIPA to keep it for 4-6 months?

The way people on this thread drink hazy beers, those 5 crowlers represent 1-2 days of one person's drinking.

We already have Milkshake IPAs so why not move into slushy IPAs?

I say we freeze it, scrape away the water and make some sort of hazy eisbock

Picked up the 7/20 batch of Stratus, it's drinking good again, better than the recent "below expectations" batch. Body could be improved a little to be like a couple batches ago but it's solid and the flavor seems back to what I'd expect.

Radio Swan is awesome. Hop flavor is awesome. Tons of El Dorado. Perfect finish.

I wouldn't mind more rye character, but that's only because I read the word Rye on the can and expected more.

But this is probably my favorite NE style beer I've had in Chicago over the last year. As good as the first batch of Galaxy Bowl.
