So OG Squeezit was the first Chicagoland NEIPA that blew me away, and nothing I've had here yet has topped it (Radio Swan and Cosmic Juicebox have been close). Others don't have the bitterness I prefer (and the rye in RS supplants the bitterness for me). Even Sqeezit v2 falls into that category. But I'm here now, trying a pint, of OG and yes, its just as good as the first batch. I am happy.

Bendy Straw is the Chicago-typical tome, lacking any bite on the backend, but still enjoyable. It falls far below OG.

Was in and out in 5 minutes, crowlers of SqueezeIt were prefilled and grabbed a couple Bendy Straws. Can't wait to try these. Thought Cosmic Juicebox was fantastic and love that Corridor is on my way home from work. Just had OJ Run from NG and it was amazing, so good. Will be trying the rest of NG beers this week side by side with Corridor. Cosmic still tops in the Midwest for me ever so slightly over OJ Run. Keep the great haze coming Corridor!

OJ Run is the low end of the curve of Narrow Gauge for me. If you have Fallen Flag or Nelson's Galaxy in your supply then you will be a very happy man!

Agree here. I had Cosmic Juice Box one night and then DDH Fallen Flag the next, and DDH Fallen Flag was clearly superior for me (although my brother thought they were pretty equal...so, palates are palates). I think DDH Fallen Flag, Nelson's Galaxy and SHB: DDH Citra are all in the top 6 or so of my favorite beers of the style in the Midwest.

That being said, I love Corridor's beer and Squeezit is also in the category of the aforementioned beers.

Yup those are on deck. Had FF before at a share and that got NG on my radar. Really excited for DDH FF and Nelsons Galaxy!
going to be great beer week.

If NG ever brings back Oast #5 Thunder From Down Under do what you can to get it. Cloud City is another fantastic one.

Cloud city is one of my favorites! Hoppy Meal though is my all time favorite from them. I could drink that all day.

I got to have DDH Hoppy Meal earlier this summer. Pretty fantastic for sure.

I just got back from lunch at Corridor...had Squeezit and Bendy Straw. I have to say that I really didn't care for Squeezit, and couldn't even finish it. The smell is great, and the initial flavor is great, but I think it has the most prominent bitter/astringent/"rindy" finish I've had in any NEIPA. I know that I get that flavor in plenty of the NEIPA's that people love, so perhaps this is a sign that most everyone else will love it. I enjoyed Bendy Straw much more - juicy and crushable, even if not as "full" in flavor.

On another note, that mustard herb mayo they have is unbelievably good.

Ha, you an I have opposing views on this. That's exactly why I love Squeezit so much compared to others of the style. Its why I avoided the trend for so long. Hopefully there will be more offerings like this for people like me that prefer the bitterness since so many breweries are making them now.

I know I seem to be an outlier with my distaste for that finish. What's interesting is that I really enjoy the bitterness of a "traditional" IPA, but the NEIPA's with a finish similar to this really are a turnoff - I remember tasting it in Trillium and Treehouse beers when I had them. I also don't recall the OG Squeezit having this flavor/finish, otherwise I wouldn't have said I liked it so much.

I am in this camp as well. I never had the OG Squeezit the first time around, only v2, but I love that bitter back end and am looking forward to checking out Squeezit after work today. If I had one complaint about Bendy Straw it's that it was lacking some of that "rindy" finish that @croush describes, though I still really enjoyed it.

I'm curious to try this run of Squeezit for exactly the reason you outlined. If you're picking up a more astringent finish, I don't remember that from the original (which is probably tied for my favorite NE beer in or potentially out of the city). I've had a few that did have that finish, and it's definitely been a docking point. Bitter = good. Astringent = bad.

Wonder if this is a "ripeness" thing or if consistency is going to be an ongoing issues with NEIPAs. I loved Van Hazen 1, not as much with 2.

It's all in our heads, and is there to create the controversy necessary to keep these threads rolling!

This batch of Squeezit is awesome - we had dinner there tonight so I picked up crowlers as well.

Very underwhelmed by the burger though. It was VERY greasy, and was cooked too long. Granted the waitress didn't ask how I'd like it cooked, and I could've asked for medium instead of ruined, but I won't be ordering the burger again.

I'm surprised, maybe it's a bad cook tonight? Every time I've had the burger it's been great
