BevMo isn't any different. They and TW are my last resort options when looking for something but they both have up to date online inventories for stores.

I hit Pint Defiance with reasonably good results. Nice little shop, helpful guy behindc the counter, not too hard to find. Long day, would have liked to try the others, but just checking in to a second, rate hotel and have a early meeting, most likely following ltitle sleep. Corporate travel desk will need the asbestos undies for tomorrow.

I'm feeling your pain, but, maybe take a look around Aberdeen before ya flame the travel department. 2nd rate might be the best thing in town. I mean, hell, something about the place had to piss Kurt Cobain off, right?

This. Hoquideen is an odd place. Kinda glad my Dad didn't get the job he applied for there in the mid-80s.

We were talking about that last night at dinner. It is like the land time forgot in some ways.

The hotel - I did sound like a whining bitch... But I keep really long and irregular hours in the plant when I travel. A Murphy bed that I have to make up and no AC plus being away from things like food at odd hours of the day/night wasn't gonna cut it. Now, if I was headed here for vacation it would be a fantastic place to stay with the beach a five minute or less walk, sleeping in, etc.

@LeRose In a former life I used to travel a lot to plants and kept strange hours as well. Almost miss a good stout and fried eggs after working a graveyard shift. Westport is 'quaint' to say the least but I like it, in a gritty faded glory kind of way. This time of year, albacore is running so fresh fish and chips should be available. Surf shop has a good statue to take a picture next to. Bay City Sausage on the way in is a good place to stop if you happen to have a bbq on hand. Sand dollars can be found on the beach if you would like to bring back a souvenir or two. Certainly been to worse places than Westport for work .......

Aberdeen is sadly an example of what Wal-Mart can do to a city. My family has a cabin past Aberdeen in North Cove (past Westport and near Tokeland) so I remember going to the little mall out there which was always full of stores and people. The first Wal-Mart in the state was built out there and it put most other places out of business, and that mall is now a very sad ghost town.

Aberdeen has a new little brewery in downtown, so go support them.

Spotted the brewery when I went past my turn to the bridge. Have been in the plant since six this morning...Won't be checking them out this morning??? It has been 11 years since I was last out here. It has changed, yet it hasn't. Lot of things I remember, some I dont, but it certainly is a beautiful place to visit. Hope I get an hour or two to just enjoy...

My brother's bachelor party was held on the beach at Ocean City St. Park. Pretty much all my beer-related experience of Hoquideen consisted of buying beer for that shindig at the grocery store that was located near the hwy as you come into Aberdeen from the east. Glad to hear there's now a brewery there, as options seemed limited to a few dive bars.
