I am getting very excited with a couple of Fall beers starting to trickle in. I have seen threads for pumpkin beers, speculation on Sam Adams Fall Sampler, Sierra Nevada's Oktoberfest (picking up a 12 pack today!), and seen mention of some other Fall beers in these threads. What I have not seen is any mention of Sierra Nevada's pack for the Fall. Did I miss something? I am very much looking forward to it being released, but their site only lists 3 packs under variety packs: 4-Way IPA, Party Pack, and Snowpack. There is no sign of it!!! Zero. No mention of a Fall pack! Here is their release schedule: http://www.sierranevada.com/release-dates

I have no answer but it's a question worth asking.

I thought so too. Just thought it was odd I haven't seen anything either way.

It seems there is a new pack this year in place for the Fall pack called Drinking Buddies which has SN Pale Ale, Sidecar, Torpedo, and Tropical Torpedo. Hopefully Tumbler still comes out this year.

@sierranevadabill may be able to give us some insight. I would be very disappointed if there is no dedicated Fall variety pack this year, as the Vienna Lager and Tumbler are some of my favorites.

There will be no traditional Fall Pack this year, we're doing a variety pack called "Drinking Buddies" with Pale Ale, Sidecar, Torpedo, and Tropical Torpedo.

The Fall Pack will probably be back next year.

Sadly, those two beers are on hiatus this year.

At least that's a positive note, thanks for the prompt reply.

Disappointing because I really like those two. Thanks for the info.

    Darn...

While I think I have a fairly good sense of some of the reasons why such choices sometimes have to be made, I too will miss them this year....

Drinking buddies pack? That's pretty lame if you ask me. Just toss 4 regular beers in and call it a day.

I will not be buying this as I don't buy them individually. Mix packs in my mind are better when at least one beer is special to it.

Coffee stout can become its own beer though anytime.

    Enjoy

No Vienna?! Awww...that's one of my favorites every year. I think SN could/should do something along the lines of what Modern Times is doing this year: core lineup, quarterly seasonals, and monthly special releases. That way they could get out all of the special brews people clamor for (kolsh, glissade, vienna, coffee stout, etc). At least where I look, MT sells through the monthly stuff before the next month's starts to appear, and the guaranteed freshness keeps me buying without hesitation.

Throw Vienna Lager, Flipside Red, Tumbler, Oktoberfest, Coffee Stout, and some brand new beer into a 2x6 12 pack. With fall approaching I'm not looking specifically at pale ales or IPAs.

I would love to see a fall pack with Oktoberfest, Pumpkin, Celebration, and a 4th new one, something really unique and new for cooler temps like a coffee/chocolate style. I love these styles come fall/winter to relax from my mass IPA consumption over the summer.
    Cheers and stay thirsty :stuck_out_tongue:

After the "Across the World" pack which I found quite interesting (and very good) this one just doesn't catch my attention at all.

No hate but that vienna lager reminds me of nacho cheese doritos in the best way. I like it.
