Can you tell us a bit more about what you thought of the flavors and aromas? I've not tried that one yet.

Evil genius peanut butter porter- medium low carbonation,a thin feel. It might have been a so so porter but the peanut butter actually gave it an oily feel and didn't blend well
An okay novelty beer but I wouldn't suggest buying a six pack. I got it as a single

One more after grilling a dinner of mac and cheese with some brats on the trusty Primo grill. I picked this up yesterday at Windmill Brewing in Dyer Indiana while I was out and about yesterday. It was released yesterday in four packs of pint cans. A fancy name labeled Un Deux Trois Citra DIPA fermented with Sacc. Trois. The abv. is 9%, IBU's 87 and I'm serving it in a 12oz. tulip. Let's check it out.....

Pours a cloudy orange juice color producing two fingers of frothy white foam that slowly settles revealing some moderate lacing. The smell is floral esters, bubblegum, pepper and mild citrus. Taste is very floral along with bubblegum, peppery spice and grapefruit. The feel is slightly acidic and bitter with a dry finish.
I had this beer on tap at the brewery yesterday and enjoyed two glasses but wasn't in the mood for a review. I'm now scratching my head as the can tastes completely different. I know there can be variables, but this is unmistakably so with a spicy Belgian profile versus the easy drinking orange/pineapple juice I had yesterday. I'm now wondering if the server that complained the entire time about working too many hours poured something else? That observation aside, it's a good beer but probably a half point below what I drank on tap. My score for this can is 3.87 and another new addition I got to add.

Stuffed from a very good dinner, I'm out for today. Have yourselves a good night and great week! I leave you with food **** and my review.

Coming in late with my only new beer of the day...
Pipeworks Very Berry Abduction imperial stout...
Finishing up the bottle I started just before episode 3 of Game of Thrones...
Predictably black body - center pour into a goblet gave up a thing finger of foam... Aromas were full of sweet, tart berry notes with mild suggestions of the darker malts and their chocolaty tones... On the sip, sweet-tart berry sweetness and tang take front and center, the warmer chocolate aspects move in on the back-end but never really assert... Body is relatively thin for an imperial stout, the bright berry elements make it seem even lighter than it is - smooth, too, but with tightness from the sharp berry impressions...
All-in-all, I've been less of a fan of berry-infused stouts over the past coupla years, owing to the fact that the aspects of a stout that I enjoy so much seem to take a back seat to the bright, tart berry flavors. I grabbed this one because I've been riding a Pipeworks high the past few days and figured it might break the trend. Unfortunately, for my tastes, this was just more of the same as far as berry stouts go. Their Raspberry Truffle Abduction was perhaps the last berry stout I truly enjoyed, and that was back in September of 2014. Previously, I have held BCBS Bramble and Backyard Ryes in high regard, though I was not as enthusiastic about their more recent Regal Rye...

Alright, NBS, here's to new beer in your glass, cheers...

Straight to Ale Velvet Evil Old Ale, an Old Ale with Raspberry, Chocolate & Coffee. 3.83, a solid beer, just not quite beefy enough...

Pours an effervescent chestnut with 2+ fingers of tan head. Above average lacing & average head retention

S: Raspberry, cocoa, a little vanilla, coffee catches up once warm

T: Follows the nose, dryness & a little coffee up front. Coffee & dryness as this warms, some chocolate & stronger coffee, some woody dryness. Finishes warming with a little cinnamon (didn't expect that ), woody dryness, rapsberry & mocha

MF: Medium body that thins a touch as this warms, slight carbonation. Carbonation picks up as this warms, a little boozey warmth

Drinks easy, the ingredients mix pretty good, not great, body could be thicker. Worth a go, but doesn't quite pull together

Thrilled to be back from a great vacation, wish I had a few more days, but my credit card bill in a few weeks will attest otherwise...

Good evening, all, and Happy New Saison Sunday! Thank you, @cjgiant, for that illuminating opening. My new beer for today is beer No. 2 from the SA Brewing the American Dream collaboration pack: Tea Party Saison, brewed in collaboration with Woods Beer, San Francisco. This is a saison brewed with tea, coriander, and grains of paradise. I have apparently achieved a higher degree of enlightenment from this than have some others who have tried it. I'll admit that I almost gave up on it after sampling it cold, but it really hit its peak at room temperature. Maybe that's the key. The tea, spices, citrus, and yeasty notes all seemed to combine perfectly at that temperature. Well crafted!

Thought I posted in wbaydn, and didn't do a formal review, so I'll be reviewing from memory.
    Urban chestnut pilsner
Pours clear golden yellow with a fluffy white head.
The aroma is largely floral hops and a very light graininess,
It's a very nice pils, clean doughy malt backbone giving way to a pronounced floral herbal hoppy bitterness.

Guys im not going to lie, I had this beer once before.

But I feel extremely compelled to present this beer on here today because it pretty unique and this beer may not be able to be brewed again according to the breweries notes.

    Brewers Notes:
Smuggler IPA is a new 6.8% IPA. This beer features Southern Aroma hops, in addition to Citra and Simcoe in supporting roles. Southern Aroma is a South African hop variety. Because AB InBev owns the rights to these hops and has decided to stop selling South African hops to independent craft brewers, we don't know if or when we will be able to get these hops again. Be educated on what you're drinking!

    My Notes:
So the highlight of this beer is the Southern Aroma hops which I never had before in my life. It amazes me that this beer may not be able to be brewed again thanks to InBev because it's truly an amazing brew. No its not in your face but what it is a delicate and elegant soft drinking NE style IPA without any flaws I can think of. The southern Aroma hops are much more tamed compared to say Mosaic and Citra but they do offer lovely nuances that a seasoned IPA drinker can bath in and appreciate. Knowing this might not ever be brewed again By Magnify is crazy, but im so glad I was able to try it.

    Cheers and Happy NBS!

I couldn't totally play hookey from the shop, so I did stop in a couple times to see what was going on, but otherwise a nice mostly free day here in Washington. Even saw humpbacks breaching iff the coast!

This meal has completely ruined sushi for me:

I have no idea why the picture looks HUGE. But this is Hawaiin Khalua style pork with ahi tuna poke. Anybody reading WBAYDN last night knows I had it for take out but it is SO freakin' delicious. The tuna us so fresh, just about melts in your mouth and the smoked pork is killer.

    The beer:

Crux Brewery Pilz.Says it is a Getman pilsener, and it does indeed taste like one. Soap bubble head in the old plastic cup and crystal clear pale yellow. The aroma is bready pale malts, almost like raw dough. Floral and grassy Saaz, but there us just a faint lemon scent too. Ditto on the taste - exactly what the nose says is what this delivers. Clean, crisp, light to medium body. An ever so slight touch of black pepper on the finish. Thinking this is going to land between 3.5 and 4.0 on the BArometer.

I have two more to try and get through tonight as I may be headed home tomorrow...if I don't fall asleep, I will be back. Of course I am automatically waking up at 3 in the morning, but that would be Monday...

OK...not going to waste time here, I guess. I have been looking forward to this beer all week. I am drinking it now in case I do doze off.

Straight up espresso aroma assaults the nose. Then some chocolate joins the party, and there is a little sweet smell as well. According to what I read there are a bunch of different malts in this brew, but they seem to hide a bit under the fantastic coffee and chocolate sweetness. This drinks like coffee with a little carbonation. It actually does drink sweet, but not overboard. Definitely sticky, can detect that smoothness oatmeal brings in, maybe a touch thin for the style but delicious. Some good stuff right here...up in the low fours, I reckon.

Nope...last night I fell asleep with WBAYDN up on the screen... The menu has it right, I got it wrong and just spelled it the way I thought. Even that was wrong because the liquer is kahlua, and I know the dish has nothing to do with coffee liquer, but they aren't digging holes in the ground on the dock, either.

Wasn't intentional. I am hooked on the dish, obviously. It is almost a tuna dish with a pork dessert.

    Cheers!

A little late to the party but it's been another busy Sunday! I wanted to try this one last week beside the DDH PseudoSue but wasn't able to so review #200 (I know just a drop in the bucket to the umpteen thousand some of you have but you have to start somewhere) had to wait until today.
As soon as I popped the cap I knew this would be a tasty brew. I enjoyed the DDH Sue but this seemed to be much more promising. Aromas of citrus with some sweet juicy fruit compliments.
Poured a hazy golden orange with a finger of white head that really lingered, this Creature Comforts glass with the etching in the bottom keeps that head alive for awhile.
Taste follows, citrusy but somewhat tropical as well. Hop bite in the end that stuck around a bit begging me to take another sip.
    Smooth somewhat creamy mouthfeel.
Overall my favorite TG beer to date!

On a side note my wife and I are planning a little road trip around Labor Day, leaving GA headed to Richmond for a night/day, then to Boston for a night/day, along the coast into Maine(Portland maybe?) before heading across NH and VT into upstate NY and back south to GA. If any of you have any must see sights or breweries along the way please BM me. Planning on having my first Trillium in Boston, hoping for Veil, Alchemist, or Hill Farmstead along the way but any other under the radar recommendations would be appreciated.

Must be time to head home as this my last hotel beer, and I may have saved the best for last by accident.

So I startedthe day with a soft, juice-like, APA from Aslan and I am finishing the night with something just a bit more allegedly aggressive...Bale Breaker Top Cutter.

This is a top cutter, so I am going from mythical lions to farm machinery, with a German pilsener and big can of coffee en route.

Oh my, this is a fabulous beer right here. Big citrus on the nose that is predominantly fresh grapefruit backed by orange. There us a little pine resin on the nose and something else I cant quite place. The malt is pretty faint in the background. The taste is where this shines for me. While the flavors are assertive, this is no face peeler. Well balanced hops, the malt shows up more in the taste than the smell, and there is a nice honey-like sweetness. This is an IPA I can really enjoy because it is so well-crafted. The grapefruit flavor is very fresh, and the orange tempers it along with some floral tangerine notes. As I drink it I am noticing these elements more in the aroma as well. The pine resin comes on late in the taste giving me a little tingle. Plus the picture doesn't do the can art justice - it is really cool. Diggin' this one a lot. If you see it, buy it and drink it. It is at least a four-oh for me. This one can follow me home any day. Thanks to the store keep who suggested it and the PNW brethren who recommended Pint Defiance.

All good! I knew it wasn't intentional because the way you spelled it is how it's prononunced. Just wanted to let you know. Kalua pork and poke are some of my favorite foods out here, very glad to see you enjoyin em!
