Not sure where you're located, but I've seen 7/7 cans on Columbus shelves recently.

Anyone else notice the taproom bottle list on the website does not include BB Oil or Coffee BB Oil?

I'm assuming it just hasn't been updated, since I can't imagine those both sold out already.

Says it was updated yesterday - so i would assume that it is in fact gone.

Although a larger supply this year, the release did coincide with a large # of people being in town, so bottles went a lot quicker than if the event had not occurred at the same time. (Sorry for the vagueness of saying 'event,' it is just that I don't recall what the event was.)

Well that sucks if both are all gone. I assumed they would still be around when BB Oro drops next month. BB Oil lasted a long time last year. Coffee BB Oil lasted until the weekend of the BB Oro release, but there were only like 250 cases last year, and I think Brad said there were over 600 this year.

Both are still here. I will get the list updated. Sorry about the confusion.

Thanks for the correction. You guys are normally very on top of it, so I honestly just assumed people went mad-crazy on it.

    Any word on Razz Berliner?

I answered my own question and just checked the site....should have done that first. Just used to seeing instagram post announcing it, I guess.

I am guessing the website was just updated incorrectly. I noticed this a few days ago. If you look under "on tap" there are 2 listings for both Oils. One that is obviously a draft, and one that is obviously a bottle (unless that extra .7 ounce in a pour really does warrant that premium...) So I would think that they just got updated in the wrong spot.

Or those are on site consumption bottles, which wouldn't make sense when you can drink them on draft much cheaper.

Which also leads me to the WOW that a draft of it costs $8, yet a bottle costs $12. One of the reasons why I rarely buy BA JO bottles, because of that price tag, so buying in a bottle costs 33% more?

Little late to the party. Brad clarified above that both bottles are still available.

Also, barrel aged draft pours are probably only 8-10oz as opposed to 12.7 in a bottle, so the cost is pretty similar between draft vs. bottle.

I said this around the time of the Appervation release. someone came back right away with "of course it is cheaper, it is on tap!" But, like, that is usually the opposite. Rarely do you ever seen on tap offerings cheaper (let alone by 30%+) than bottles.

The bottle premium upcharge is ridiculous. I would have happily bought 2 cases of Cellar Cuvee 11 if they were inline with tap pricing. That goes for other JO beers as well.

If you look at the pricing, that isn't true for all. A 12 oz pour of cellar Cuvee is $8, vs $12 375ml. It was similar pricing/ratio for Appervation.

Lets not forget the labor involved with bottling, the cardboard, the bottles, the labels, the lab testing, the ability to purchase and take home, the amount of warehouse space pallets of bottles take up, and the fact that the draft is at the source (so it will always be cheaper). If we charged $10 per draught pour would this be a discussion? Kegging beer is simple, fast, easy, and requires minimal labor, no labels, no cardboard, and pallet space to liquid volume is very high. Just giving everyone a really fair/cheap on tap price from the source because we can. Bottle pricing has to be set across the state, state minimum. So that means our pricing has to fall in line with all other retail accounts. A 1/6bbl is 299.99 if anyone is interested.

This kind of stuff is puzzling to me. People complaining about $1 more price who 'happily' buy cases and cases of beer that's already expensive. Craft beer isn't the beverage for you if you pinch them pennies.

Do you think Bugatti owners complain that they could get more affordable floor mats somewhere else?

It isn't a $1 upcharge or pinching pennies. It is $4 more. At $12-16 per 375, it is significantly more expensive than other comparable substitutes. Even Bell's BA Expedition at $28 a 4 pack is less per 12oz bottle than 1 12oz draft pour of JO BA offering.

Thanks, Brad, for taking the time to make a thoughtful reply. I very much appreciate that. I do understand the costs, and I understand economies of scale, and that as you grow costs should go down. Unfortunately those decreaasing marginal costs frequently are not passed on to consumers. It has always made me curious why JO is significantly more expensive than other BA stouts out there. (I am in the Economics profession, so I am also aware of the costs associated with items sitting in barrels for extended periods of time, opportunity costs associated, etc.) it just appears to be at least 1 order of magnitude more expensive than other comparable substitutes.

Lets not overlook the price of vanilla beans or coffee beans that we choose to absorb as opposed to making bottles 12.99. For instance, BB Coffee OIL has $2500 worth of coffee in it, BBVCDA has $2500 worth of coffee and $2000 worth of vanilla beans... still $11.99. Don't get me started on BBORO or the BB Nut barleywines.

We age everything 10-14 months for our annual "regular" BB products. This is not the norm for "comparable products."
