What's the deal on these guys? I've noticed a new DIPA sticking it's cloudy, little head around our parts called that one that just got kicked and I can't find any information about this brewery at all. No websites, no social media, just untapped check-ins and a few beermenus locations.

Anyone know what's up with these guys (or gals)?

Go to Good Beer's Instagram page. I never heard of these guys/this beer before Tuesday.

You should have probably mentioned that the name is "blank brewing" hence the ___... It appears to be a nano brewery around NY?

Lol, it's the same thing. On the can it's an underscore, they don't actually use the word "Blank" so using the underscore is more accurate.

Seems like fairly idiotic branding on the brewery's part

It's definitely odd, I agree with you. Maybe it's supposed to add to the mystery of the brewery(?) but that's just a guess.

Nah look at us talking about it. Esoteric branding is in.

If you've got product ready for sale and consumption, but no agreement on the name, it just has to be sold somehow.

Maybe in that sense. But I mean just in terms of the mechanics of trying to look them up

Beermenus seems to link the beer to Blank Slate brewing out of OH, but fairly sure that's incorrect - their Instagram actually has a proper "Blank Slate" logo on their beers

They seem to be connected with EvilTwin/Omnipollo through 12% Importers, and they sold these cans alongside cans from those breweries a week or two ago out of a brewery in CT named Overshores Brewing Co. that also seems entirely unrelated to the beers. It's all pretty needlessly mysterious.

@rozzom is correct in that it’s unrelated to the Ohio brewery, and @Megamanmmx is correct in that it’s an affiliated party to 12% Importers.

    Initial details, if anyone's interested:

I don't really care what they call it, for discussion purposes you've got to be more specific. ___ could mean anything when starting the conversation. Even 12 percent beer project calls it "blank brewing" in their comments. Regardless, all of the info just confirms to me that it is just more hype nonsense and probably worth skipping. Also, since when do can-only beers "kick" anyways? The name is certainly a misnomer. They should have called it "The one we only made 40 cases of so you can't find it because hype." Though maybe the batch size is really due to them being a nano... 3 bbl system?

It's definitely odd all-around and I agree with the majority of your post. Last thing we need around here is another hype-driven NEIPA making brewery.

What's the hype'iest thing a brewery can do these days?

    NO LIMIT can releases?

12% Imports holds (limited/one-off) releases for affiliated parities (e.g. Evil Twin, Omnipollo, Stillwater, ____). Whatever doesn’t sell out that day is distributed, and seeing as though this was a week day release with a brewery that is relatively unknown…cue Threes, Beer Street, Broadway Dive

New England has been covering this to an extent/somewhat

I'm drinking a can of the one that just kicked right now and it's pretty good but not great, it's got a good mouthfeel but there's something off in the finish. stylistically I'd say it's a joosey dipa that tastes like it was made with cyro hops.

the thread linked to above and the twelve.percent.beer.project instagram are the only info I can find online.

I haven't had all of them but most of the recent draft only evil twin ipas have been better than this.

I'm curious about the omnipollo beer made with hamburger buns and fries.
