The new brewery is coming... (not this month unfortunately)

The Double Can + Glassware release at Barrier Brewing was a success.

Funds from this release help to fund completion of Grimm's and Barrier's new brewing equipment, which was endangered when our manufacturer went out of business.

Joe and Lauren thank you for your support and were glad to meet many of you at Barrier.

Their new online shop is open. Check out their gorgeous glassware and shirts.

Nice pics on their instagram feed: https://www.instagram.com/grimmales/

Grimm beers are usually in high demand (especially the cans). Cans have been limited to low counts per person. Grimm Artisanal Ales supply their beers at low prices (and have NOT raised their prices recently) to the distributor, who supply the retail shops, and therefore are not responsible for the final price you may encounter. They try to support the "Mom and Pop" shops that sell their beer. Hopefully, we should all support these small shops. Also available at select Whole Foods beer departments with limits to spread the wealth among your fellow BA brethren. :sunglasses:

The latest fitness craze has been the checking of this thread and Beermenus for their cans/bottles and running around town trying to get them before inventory is sold out. Needed exercise for some of our fellow beer enthusiasts. :grinning: If you miss out, you can usually find their beer on tap.

Post away and yes, Joe and Lauren (the Grimm's) monitor this thread and are great about responding to your questions and comments. Especially, if you tag them @Grimm_Artisanal_Ales. Great people, great couple, great brewers.

    Artwork

The beautiful Grimm artwork on their labels is designed by Lauren, about 50% from scratch and the rest using Gretta Johnson's (their longtime friend) artwork. Gretta did the artwork for Sugarmaker, In Mid-Air, and Candlepower.

Check out http://grettajohnson.com/ for more about this talented artist.

The artwork on the Splish can is by Joe's old band mate, and incredible artist, Brian Alfred.

The artwork on Lambo Door, Awoogah, Light Year, Skyspace, Lumen, and Blackberry Orange Pop! is by the amazing Lauren Grimm. She can do it all!

The artwork for Sumi Ink label is by Sumi Ink Club (http://sumiinkclub.com/)

Their friend Maggie (Margaux Ogden) did the Zap design (http://www.margauxogden.com/paintings)

Looks like Boysen Raspberry Pop and Castling are available in Gowanus, per BeerMenus. Still have one bottle of Castling from the first batch -- might have to do some comparisons.

They have Passion Dome too. Not sure why WF Gowanus never updates ALL the new beer they get in, they also have Vanilla Oak World Wide Stout for anyone into that...

Drinking Power Source right now on draft. A tad bitter, but really fantastic flavor. Glad I got a chance go try it.

Did a side by side with Power Source and SC Oops Mango. If you like mango PS definitely is the better beer. If you like balance, Oops Mango provides that. It's odd to say that a Grimm beer isn't balanced because that's what expect from them, but in no way is it a bad thing because PS is damn fucking tasty.
