No. I find having to line up an hour plus in advance to get a shot at a beer ludicrous, having a whole week to get over and try a beer is fucking brilliant.

Stop by Treehouse and let me know how much more you appreciate Corridor's releases...

Ludicrously short? Maybe not, but it's certainly relatively short. Beer hype around here is bad enough that I can't call a week "ludicrous" if some beers sell out in 24 hours at the brewery.
I don't think that's a fair comparison. Yes, TH is out of control, and for a reason; they've basically "perfected" the style as most people see it, and their hype-meter has been out of control for a year-plus. Corridor is, relatively speaking, brand new to this, so I can't help but think that pretty soon hype around there will be spiraling out of control as well. Is a week a decent window? It's certainly not terrible, although obviously not ideal. But I think that window is going to get shorter and shorter, and pretty quickly. If I'm wrong, fine, screw limits.

Corridor is more set up to be a neighborhood pub. Not really set up to supply all of the area with beer. Which is a problem because they are making the best of the style in the area. I imagine the hype will make it very hard to get or they will have to abandon more and more of their other beers if they want to always have a NE style beer available.

I don't know if Brant wants to chime in, but I would imagine they have to walk a tightrope with their releases.

They are fairly small and if there's another beer sitting in the tank, but they can't tap it because they don't have a line available, then I would imagine they would want to blow through beer as quickly as possible to get it on. Whether it gets into more individual hands or not, I'm not sure they would really mind either way.

On the flipside, if they aren't able to make beer fast enough and they consistently have a tap line or two open, then that's not necessarily good either for regulars and people stopping in before/after Cubs games, etc.

To me it's a good news/bad news situation and probably not a position they've been in before. I would imagine that's one of the big issues he and Roger and trying to work through.

Curse you all for putting me in a position to defend a brewery rather than be critical of it and negative...

I'm in favor of limiting crowlers for sure, but I think you might have missed @Bbear 's main point which is they always have a hazy option on tap - if you miss one beer, you can just try the next one.

Yes, if you want to try every single hazy beer Corridor makes - of late you have about a week.

well, i've just been unlucky then, because that hasn't been my experience.

anyways, it seems that the concept of limiting purchases for specialty beers is a foreign one, so i'll just stop blabbering on about it.

I guess it's only been that way for about a month or so - and maybe even then there's been a day in there but they haven't been doing th

I for sure agree with you on having some sort of limit, regardless of how long it's staying on. It's just not a good idea to have people walk out with 6 or 8 crowlers.

    Hello Everyone,
    Hello Everyone,

We are meeting tomorrow on many of the topics that are being discussed recently. I'll update tomorrow with the results. Squeezit went fast! That's an undeniable fact. 5.5 days to be exact. That being said we were able to get Van Hazen on Monday before Squeezit had kicked (even if it was only a few hours). I am confident that we will be able to hopefully never be down a Hazy again or at least for only a day or two. We are also incredibly busy due to not only the haze craze, but the Cubs being World Champions, construction finally concluded on Southport, and the beautiful weather. We are stressed trying to not only keep up with haze demand, but neighborhood demand. This is new to us this year. We were steady/busy last year, we are maniacal busy this year which is a great problem. We will adapt and perfect. That may include Crowler limits, it may not. We may have to double batch Squeezit, VH, and Cosmic Juice Box after the insane Summer months. We hear ya and we have plans. Bear with us and we'll improve.

My fiancé isn't crazy about beer, but when I handed her a Wizard Fight last night, she responded "Thanks...wait, do they have the one I like? The squeezebox?" She's getting it.

I just want to say that I love what Corridor is doing. The food, the beer, everything. Thank you for putting the effort into making it a favorite spot of ours.

Yup, seconded. As maybe the closest brewpub to me, I'm highly appreciative of the fact that I really enjoy both the food and the beer (and the place). I get sick of having to drive around or take the train every time I want to go to a good brewpub, so it's a refreshing change.

Agreed. Should be easier to commute to now that construction is done (I think). Also, "squeezebox" should be their next beer. Or it would just make an awesome cuvee.

@dubo09 Any word on when Van Hazen is expected to last until? I thought you had previously estimated it make it until Saturday evening, but wanted to see if that still seems about right. Trying to gauge when to head over with my family and my brother's family...I was thinking brunch tomorrow to avoid any huge crowds at dinner time today.

FYI, looks like The Green Lady also got a keg of VH, if you want to pre-game before heading to Corridor.

I was being facetious; pregaming craft beer with other craft beer isn't something a beer nerd such as I would joke about!

Just letting you/everyone know there's a little bit on tap elsewhere as well.

Agree completely. I've been slow to appreciate this style but the one thing you can say for sure is that they're almost always better fresh. I want to coin the term AFAP but I'm sitting buzzed at a STL airport bar so im sure that's not a good idea.

I've been arguing this since the trend started in Chicago, but the single best thing to come out of the "haze craze" here has been an increased spotlight/concentration on the freshness of hoppy beers. If you're going to cram 7 tons of citra hops into a can, I want to taste it as close to how you tasted it when you brewed it as I possibly can. If it's better after a couple weeks, that's fine, but I'd rather find that out on the 2nd or 3rd can...or 4th.

Van Hazen will be fine until Monday. Probably Tuesday or Wednesday.
