Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! My mom came up to visit yesterday, it's been a nice visit so far. She hasn't been up here in a few years, which was when I was hospitalized for my mountain bike crash and surgery in Fall 2014.

    Beers this morning:

Fantastic IPA! Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with toasted biscuit, light caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish, Medium bodied; moderately crisp and sticky/resinous mouthfeel, with balancing grainy/bready malt creaminess. Increasing resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Refreshingly drinkable. Been buying this a lot more often lately. Bright, dank, and juicy hop complexity; with a nice malt backbone. I love it. I had to revisit my review for this some time ago. I have been appreciating a lot of classic beers much more in the last couple years.

Fantastic wheat ale! Flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit, light honey malt balance; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light pine/grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; great bready/grainy wheat creaminess and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing bitter dryness. Insanely drinkable and refreshing, with awesome Amarillo hop juiciness and vibrancy. Glad I got a 6 pack when I was in Ohio last month. I will definitely never pass this up if I see it again. Definitely might homebrew a keg clone of this to have though. Just kicked another keg this week, so I will likely be doing it soon.

Awesome Red DIPA again this year. Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, toasted bread, and light roasted malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness. Medium-full bodied; balanced creaminess and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. No hop astringency. Light-moderate increasing resinous dryness. Very smooth, minimal warming ABV. The malt character feels more pronounced than it was in the original 750 batch. More caramel and creaminess; but I actually prefer it like this. More juicy feeling on hops. Will grab a 4 pack eventually, got another single for now. I have been buying a lot of Founders beer the last couple months with the recent seasonals. I love pretty much everything year round too, so it is hard to avoid.

This is tasting fantastic after 19 months! Flavors of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, vanilla, molasses, toasted biscuit, and dark bread; with light notes of smoke, char, licorice, dark fruit, herbal, wood, and peppery/piney hops. Light-moderate roast/char and herbal/woody hop bitterness on the finish. Awesome medium-full body creamy/silky mouthfeel; with some light sticky hops and chalky roast. Lightly increasing bitter/roasted dryness. Never acrid or astringent. I love how this has developed over the last 1.5 years. It was quite hoppy initially; but is silkier and less drying now, while still retaining the bitter dark chocolate aspect. These are still on the shelf. Will definitely grab more while I can!

Great description, as always . Did you actually detect any dank notes though? I failed to do so and it was the main reason I wanted to try it. Nice beer, but if there was any (faint) dank my palate failed to detect it.

OK - we've merged! Now I can post while there's still some foam to be consumed in my snifter. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Decent - a little sticky (HAH!) and overpriced, but still not bad.

    Deschutes / Hair of the Dog • Collage № 1 + Collage № 2

I had been following a thread in the NW section these two beers. Then last Friday, I stumbled on a bottle of the Collage № 1. The next day, I found a bottle of Collage № 2 at a good price. So, I figured it was time to do a little research.

Personally, yes I did. That beer has Chinook, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops. Chinook and Simcoe are widely known for having an intense pine, rind, spicy, and resiny profile; which I would commonly associate with being "dank". Mosaic contributes a lot of the fruity berry/tropical notes. A great hop combo. I always love IPAs that include Mosaic.
