I liked it at first, but, gets a bit too clawing / sweet for me. It's really hard for me to enjoy an entire can. I don't think it's bad at all, but, it's not something I can drink a few cans of...or even one.

Honestly it tastes great now...can't tell how it will be aged. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the Brett beers I have tried thus far but this one was awesome out the gate. The mosaic is very present and forward which drowns out the Brett (carbonation) a lot.

Saturday was my first visit to OH...not sure how I feel about the place. For all the money everyone is dropping there was so much yelling from the clientelle, "NEXT! WHO IS NEXT! WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY WANT TO ORDER!" There was a lot of chaos with people in the cafe line and the can line getting mixed up.

Dudes working both the can sale and the cafe the servers seemed so coked out, and even though I knew my exact order the dude who took it messed it up twice, kept forgetting what I ordered then asked again, then gave me the wrong growler (which I didn't realize at first). I went to find my wife and he was running around going "WHERE IS THAT ************" and then saw me and snatched the growler from me because he gave me the wrong one and was like "you dumb ************". He then gave me the right one but he was such a dick about it, I wasn't the one who made the mistake he was.

I know I don't deserve special treatment it's just beer sales and they can be as "Brooklyn Hard" as they want but when you're dropping hundreds of dollars at a place you think they'd at least be a little nicer.

Doesn't matter if it's Brooklyn, no one should act in that manner anywhere.

Or whatever you call it. The place where they pour beer and growlers.

*Here come the fanboys who will defend this unacceptable behavior and likely blame it on you*
Anyone working in NYC bars or breweries who can't handle crazy crowds without being rude needs a new job. Sorry that this happened to you on your first visit. For what it's worth, the staff over there is usually pretty cool and I've only received subpar service or an attitude once or twice in my 3 years of going there. I do miss the days where Anthony was behind the bar though :slight_frown:

I don't know, I don't think I've been to a bar in NYC thats as small and gets as packed as it can get on a can release as Other Half's current taproom. Granted that's still no excuse because if they're working their they should be used to how crazy it can get by now since it happens literally every single Saturday.

I'm surprised they would treat anyone that way, that is totally unacceptable. One can only hope their attempt at some sort of humor was lost in translation? In all the years I've been visiting, no matter how crowded, I've never seen that sort of treatment, even though they mix up growlers all the time.

The guy was allegedly called a dumb ************ in what seems like an attempt to blame the growler mixup on the customer. No excuse for that...totally unprofessional.

I can vouch for seeing the other side of this interaction occur in the tap room. He was def cursing up a storm as he ran out to chase you down.

Can releases are taxing/stressful but that's not an excuse for that kind of disrespect.

Idk about coked up, that's a pretty serious claim, those guys are slammed and are probably chugging all sorts of energy drinks. That being said, that kind of behavior is 100% inexcusable. Cursing out a customer is NEVER acceptable. I've been at the taproom at its worse, multiple times, for pours and growler fills, and I think the staff has done a commendable job dealing with the utter crush of people, all the while being consistently understaffed.

This makes me think they should use a deli counter "take a number" type of thing. Maybe that would help with the mixed up growlers situation?

    Moving back to the beer...

Enigma + Galaxy is fantastic. Differences in aroma perception aside, I absolutely would describe this as both "oniony" and "weedy" which are two of my favorite aromas/flavors in an IPA. It's a stinky stinky beer in the best way possible. I had a can of this during a share on Saturday that included Twice Baked, Fully Loaded, DDH Galaxy, DDH Space Diamonds, and a few other IPAs. E+G was by far the best of the night for me. Awesome stuff!

Just tying things back to the tipping convo a few weeks ago - if that had been me getting called a dumb ************ I would have only tipped 18% so they could feel my wrath.

"Dank" gets overused a lot in beer descriptions. E+G is exactly that. Despite my less-than-awesome experience purchasing the beers, I have enjoyed them immensely in the chill comfort of my own home!

I actually really like the artwork, just wish it weren't on a teku. It's time to move on from that style.
