So I was going to crack a bottle open today, but noticed quite a bit of sediment in the bottle. I didn't really inspect it when I bought it a while back but is this normal? I saw a few reviews mentioning it but I figured I'd poll the Founder's demographic as you guys would know best. Thanks.

Obligatory "send it to me and I'll test it for you" post.

I had the same sediment when I opened my Better Half last week... my recommendation: drink it! I poured my first glass without disturbing the sediment, and it was NOT good. No maple flavor, and a strange alcohol astringency. On the second pour, I filled the glass with the rest of the bottle, not knowing there was sediment until I saw it in the glass. This was glass delicious! All of the maple flavor I remembered the last time I had Better Half. Based on this experience, I HIGHLY recommend giving the bottle a few flips and including the sediment in your pours.

Hope I am steering you in the right direction... Maybe open the bottle, pour a little out, see what you think, and decide for yourself if you want to include the sediment.

Cracked one two weeks ago with sediment in it, personally didn't think the taste had changed although I noticed the more sediment the more maple flavor came through.

I opened one couple of weeks ago and there was hardly any sediment, but when the last of it came out a brown 'hockerish' blob slipped out and layed on top of what was barely any foam. I actually picked off with a toothpick. The whole beer tasted like shit so bad I almost dumped it down the drain. I opened another one the next night from the same 4pk and it was the same. I put the other two away for those nights when I'm so shithammered I won't notice it as much. I bought 2 4pks at the same time and the other seemed ok. Was definitely disappointing

I think you're thinking of Old Curmudgeon - Curmudgeon's Better Half was a bomber.

That said, shit-ton of sediment in my bottle as well.

There is a lot of sediment in these bottles. It was also much better fresh.
