It looks like they still have Echoes on the Brain on tap. Had a pint a couple weeks ago, it was a great Dark Mild.

Anyone else listen to the Steal This Beer podcast with Dan from Forest & Main? He doesn't feature prominently but there were some interesting takeaways in regards to their brewpub. Seems like their business, or at least their beers that sell the best, has shifted to hazy IPA and fruited sours. He also made a comment that they have a hard time keeping them on tap vs a "bitter will last three months."

Which is a bummer to me that, while I assume they like making those beers, that the trends have gone in such a way that they have to brew the trendy new style to stay relevant.

There is no doubt that the IPAs are selling, when I'm sitting at the bar, probably 3 out of 4 orders are for IPAs. Plus, they crowler about 200 cans a week and sell them out.Gotta go with what pays the bills, especially with the (hopefully) soon to open taproom next door. Glad that they do seem to keep at least one or two saisons and bitters on tap most of the time as well.

There isnt a beer we brew that we don't love to make. I hope I didn't give a different impression.

We haven't, and never will, forget our true loves. We will have more saisons available in bottles soon. Our goal is to have a nice bottle list in addition to a few on draft at all times.

Thanks for listening to the podcast

Oh, I didn't get the impression you didn't like those types of beers. In fact I recall you saying you do enjoy them!

I guess I'm just bummed that, kind of like you said, someone on Untappd will give a bad score to a beer when it's a style they don't particularly care for anyway and it hurts your average. It bums me out that some beer drinkers feel like beer needs to be one of two categories: Juicy IPA or BIG STOUT. And if it's not that it's not good. Or they judge a Bitter compared to a NEIPA.

I feel your pain, most of the folks I do bottle shares with are stuck in this rut.

It was an amazing weekend. That beer will be on at the pub soon, probably later this week.

Is there any interest on your part (or have you gauged demand) for distributing your cask English style ales to fill up the idle beer engines in pubs across SEPA?

For example, my local bar (formerly East End Alehouse, now Butcher and Barkeep) used to feature Yards cask stuff, but not in years. The hand pump just sits there lonely, and I'd love to drink your Dark Milds more often.

Does cask ale just not move fast enough around here?

We sell so little beer offsite right now so we don't have the team in place to move much more, that may change after we open are new space.

Anyone get to try the Pen Druid collab? Glad to see these two getting together, and hoping it lasts for a bit

Anyone else try Beyond Duality? It's incredible, one of my favorite beers in a long time.

Can’t wait to crack one open! Does it taste more like a F&M or JK beer?

I want to say it's closer to F&M's style than it is to an equal mix, but that could be because I'm more familiar with them.

I also have to say I've been much more impressed with JK's more restrained offerings in general than I am with stuff like Atrial, and this is definitely in that vein.

The tea is there but not overpowering. Subtle lemon and absolutely perfect body/carb on this one, i.e. what F&M does best versus just chocking a saison full of flavors.
