Other Half Brewing August 2017

This past weekend's release might have been the best of the year. 4 phenomenal beers! Thanks to @RobNewton for the assistance!

Totally agree with @inkman15's assessment on the aroma. I am a Australia/New Zealand hop junky I think...

 

Now that's an awesome lineup. Too bad I'll be out of town this weekend.

Citra+Galaxy and DDH Motueka+Galaxy have a 0% chance of being bad.

And here I was thinking I could sit this one out...

 

They must have a shit ton of galaxy

 

A good problem to have.

 

The one time I ever got growlers from OH (during the potatoes release), the bartender took my name down and wrote them on the stickers. Then he left them on the counter and called out names when they were ready. Best way to avoid confusion

 

^They did the same thing with me at the DDH ACE/Cheddar Broccoli/True Green release. Glad it prevented me from becoming another "dumb ************."

*Addendum: for the record, I've had nothing but positive experiences at Other Half. Everyone's been very friendly and sociable with me in my interactions. Sucks to hear some others haven't had similar encounters.

I've had growler mix ups a couple of times.

Service is always decent. Only attitude I've had was fairly recently. Brought in a growler I'd forgotten to rinse beforehand. Wasn't busy. Said something along lines of "Sorry I know we're supposed to clean these before we come in but would you mind giving it a quick rinse, I forgot". The guy (who I didn't recognize, although admittedly I go less often these days) gave me a dressing down and finished with "don't do it again". I would have much preferred "no" than a lecture.

 

That's not cool at all, that is some pretty bad customer service. I have brought in growlers to other places, they ask me if I cleaned it, I say yes and they rinse it anyway.

let's face it... OH makes amazing beer but in terms of everything else, it's kinda meh... hence all the complaints.

 

Well, they do make 4-5 amazing beers.

 

The only "bad" experience I had in the taproom recently was on a Tuesday night to pick up some DDH DMD cans (double batch). I asked for a 4 pack and the guy at the bar was like "That's really all you're getting?" And when I said Yes he rolled his eyes then grabbed a 4 pack for me. Like he expects everyone to drop a bunch of money on growlers and pours at every visit. Other than that, I haven't had too many bad experiences.

What was said above about this past Saturday is disgusting and really needs to be brought to their attention. Customers should never be treated that way.

 

Not sure they even care.

There are managers on duty at every can release. If you have a complaint - please ask for them.

If someone talked to me that way, I would report them. Def not cool.

 

Still waiting for that "OH" beer. Sounded awesome. Midweek release?
