I really enjoyed this, a little too much based on my headache this morning.

Cool, let's hope this Founders beer is just as amazing as the others.

Finally landed in Houston, ventured out Sunday and picked up a 4 pack at the local HEB. Finally got around to cracking the first one tonight. Very surprised at how good it was. Granted I am drinking it out of a chilled glass (Malt Liquor law) and it is remarkably smooth for the ABV, but man on man it comes on strong.

Bought one today. Might hold it 'til the weekend. Will give a review. It was hard to read the ABV, but 14.2% sound right?

That is correct and is the reason why I haven't cracked it open yet. I haven't been this "scared' to try a beer in a while :astonished::wink:

Drank it late last nite, felt it half the way thru, and this morning. Worth it

That's good! Unfortunately I got a bomber bottle so once it's open there is no turning back....I have the day off tomorrow so I think I might give it a go tonight. I might follow malt liquor law #2 and drink it from the bottle with a paper bag:wink:

I will admit that I poured this in a frosted tulip, that is how my grandma drank her malt liquor.

It finally showed up here in South Dakota. Could have bought a bunch but just got a single to try. Cooling it for review tomorrow night.

Was it hard to read the label because you drank one already and forgot that you did? :stuck_out_tongue:

Unless you live in GR. Checked the website and low and behold, BA Sumatra Mountain Brown on tap. I think I'm leaving work a little early tomorrow, been waiting for this one.

Well, had a DKML tonight and it seemed just like someone took a Bud, dumped in some corn likker', and some vanilla extract. Very alcohol forward - not even bourbon - alcohol.

Can't base nationwide distribution on what mutant brews might turn up in the taproom. I'm going by the BA lineup on the website that goes Frootwood, KBS, Doom, DKML, Backwoods, and TBA (which IS CBS). BA Sumatra sounds great though, please report back.

I think you misinterpreted the previous posters message.

He was saying that, although Backwoods Bastard might be the next NATIONALLY distributed in the series, BA Sumatra brown was just put on tap at home, in GR. So, for him, BW bastard is not next - BA Sumatra brown is. He was not saying that BA Sumatra would be the next national beer.

I had it at Founders that last weekend in July. It is fantastic. Clocks in at 11.8 %. Wish I lived closer I would've been drinking it daily.

Bought a 4 pack for drankin' and a bomber for agin'. It was HOT, but I really enjoyed it. I bet this thing is going to be stellar once its mellowed out. Will hold onto the bomber for a couple years and then revisit.

Founders regularly has BA versions of their beers in their Taproom. BA Sumatra does sound yummy...
