I'm sure this question has been asked but you can just walk into the brewery and get a keg now right? Do they typically have kegs of Sneakbox on? Or just Head High?

Also total no0b question that I should be rightfully flamed for. If you were to get a keg the night before, would you need to keep it on ice overnight? And if you bought a keg directly from the brewery is it already cold? Or would you have put it on ice and let it get cold before serving?

Family party Saturday at 1pm so debating whether to get it the night before, or preferably the day of

I would get it the night before and keep it cold overnight. If you pick it up Saturday it will still be jostled when you tap it.
More importantly, by getting it the night before, you can drink it while setting up Saturday.
    Enjoy your party

I agree with @SammyJaxxxx , quality control is very important, you shouldn't serve it to guests before sampling it yourself. What if it's bad?

On another note..Any of you jersey guys making the trek down to The Veil this weekend for their Forever Summer festival?

I have heard that jostling in transport has no impact. Foaming occurs when temp is too high and CO2 breaks out. But still get the night before. The brewery fridge where it is kept is probably one where people go in and out all day so temp might not be super cold. You want it as cold as possible for party pouring

Really? I find this a little hard to believe. I picked up my fair share of kegs in college. They were always stored in a very cold walk-in cooler and the beer store was 3 minutes door to door away, so hardly a lot of time for the temp to be too high and CO2 to break out (especially during the winter months) but definitely enough time for some rolling around or bouncing. We usually found there to be less foam when I put the keg in my front seat and we were careful bringing it to the basement. If we put it in the trunk there was definitely more foam. But then again who knows, it was college and i dont remember a whole lot

The sixtels are relatively light aren't they? And aren't they plastic? One person should be able to carry it fairly easily?

I worked at a small beer distributor a long time ago. We always recommended that the keg be stood upright in the trunk when possible, or seat belted in a upright position like a passenger for a smaller car.

The worst was when we'd be asked put it on its side where it was allowed to freely roll back and forth.

Always reccomended waiting at least 2 hours before tapping and keep cold.

I would think jostling in transport would be the same as shaking a beer can then opening it.

Some sixtels can be plastic, I know Kane had the plastic ones when they first started selling them, but most places use traditional SS. And a sixtel of beer is very easy to carry. Also FWIW I always grab my sixtels the night/day before a party
    1. to let them settle
    2. i usually hate running around doing shit the day of the party so I get as much in place as possible before hand

If memory serves me correct the deposit must be cash and can't be out on a card so make sure to bring some green with you.

Just a heads up since you're gonna be adding a bunch of Bradley restaurants... Blue Martin recently closed. Gonna be replaced by Bradley Brew Project in a couple months.

Newbie question: I'm thinking about driving through on Saturday...odds are good I could get the flagships (Head High, Overhead, Sneakbox) in 4-packs of cans? Anything else would be gravy. No growlers.

You'll be fine walking and grabbing all of those, only one that MIGHT sell out would be sneak box..you said no growlers, but i would recommend filling a growler of hoplab mosaic and simcoe..you won't be disappointed!
