How ridiculous is parking for weekday releases. Contemplating driving up in a bit.

Probably the traffic getting in from Jersey will be more of a problem than parking if you are going around opening.

This is just my humble opinion, but as Other Half continues to grow and becomes a more mature business, the liability of having people illegally drinking in the streets of NYC as they wait to get into their business is going to have these block parties come to an end. Or production will increase, supply exceeds demand and the lines naturally fade away.

    This seems rather unnecessary.

At a certain point, if you're drinking on line it's because you want to, not because you have to.

Anyone know what kind of line we are dealing with - @Kanger - did more cases get added for actual sale today?

One can only hope. I thought the expanded tap room and more frequent releases would put a damper on things like this but that dream lasted all of one day.

It's not even the line drinking per se (cops will sort that out) it's this mentality of having to get online early as possible to max out your allotments (to resell or not) even on a fucking Wednesday afternoon. It creates this self-perpetuating need for everyone else to do the same in order to have a chance at getting any beer at all and it's ridiculously frustrating. If everyone just relaxed and got beer in a normal manner there'd be no need for it and more people would get their share since less people would feel obliged to max out also after waiting in line for four hours.

That's why I don't like Equilibrium's new release method. People are praising them for trying something different (deli-style) but they straight up said those who arrive earlier will get more allotments because it's "fairest"

That just rewards the people who exhibit the most extreme behavior and marginalizes the average guy who just wants to get beer. Many times the most extreme behavior includes illegal behavior. At these hyped breweries with long lines, how many people would wait in these lines for long periods of time if there was no drinking? Not as many, that's for sure.

I cannot believe this shit. I mean really? I rolled up at 5 hoping to walk in grab a beer and a 4 pack and dip out on my way home from work. The line wraps the fucking corner on a Weds at 5?

I really hope it's just people here for the extra broccoli glasses so they can strike it rich and that there isn't an hour- two hour wait every day because the tap room is at capacity.

I don't normally bitch about the lines but damn I'm disappointed I don't have time to stand in line right now.

    Yeah I can't count. 20 taps.

There were about 170 cases of Green Power and 220 cases of Dream in Green.

Would it have helped if OH didn't post about 2 cans 5 hours before opening?

I recall one of the first midweek releases they did, I was working from home (which is nearby) so I raced over just after 5, and waited on a line that struck me as longer than it should be. Of course, social media reports an hour later indicated the line was gone, people were in/out. I think if you hit a midweek release AT 5PM exactly, you'll wait. If you go around 6 or 7, you'll be fine and it won't be crazy.

I guess I would wait and see how these play out, but I'll go on record suggesting that whatever line was there at 5PM is gone by 6PM.

That opposite direction line is the real evil.

That's not their style, its all hype all the time. Cant say as I blame them, they're just milking the cash cow as long as they can.
