It seems possible to me that this year they've rented the entire forum. So you would have a wild room, a cider room, a stout room. I would definitely pay extra for that.

Here's to hoping. I think they would announce any major improvements though..

Maybe the extra $20 bucks goes to issuing everyone FoBaB 2017 branded charcoal lined underwear?

I'm sure the extra money will be going toward FOBAB lanyards and an awful tote bag.

According to the FB post, IMBIBE presale is Sept 5th-7th. Given so, I would assume IMBIBE members like myself would be getting an email in the next few weeks regarding purchasing detail?

Maybe they don't honor anymore but the last couple times I was at Half Acre they honored it. Also got a discount at Noon Whistle. Brought it up at Hailstorm and the bartender/owner said there wasn't a specific discount but hooked me up anyway.

I don't care about the T shirt but I'll admit I perk up when Draft magazine comes. I should start going to BUG and using that VIP to make my Imbibe more worth it

Why would the price increase change the samples at all. Multiple festivals in illinois provide tickets and are unlimited to get around the law. Look at Beer Camp the first year. They gave everyone like 100 tickets.

I dont think anyone is freaking out. It is absolutley fair to question an almost 50% cost increase yoy.

Why wouldn't they charge more if they're giving us "more" samples?

I understand that it's ultimately moot either way since they never took tickets, but... if they gave us 20 (25? 30? can't remember the number) last year for $60, why wouldn't they charge more if they gave us more?

Because the sample tickets do not actually matter. It is simply to get around the law in illinois (beer fests need tickets). Thats all the tickets are for. The beer is all donated. There are not costs to make up for beer wise. The only things that could justify the increase are

    1. UIC rent went up
    2. They rented a larger space
    3. Simple Cash Grab.

They aren't giving us more samples. They could triple the amount of samples they give and they shouldn't raise the price by 3 times because human bodies are limited in how much barrel aged beer they can hold in a given time period.

Completely different type of event though. Big North is 5 hours, includes food, and live music.
FOBAB is 3 hours and doesnt have live music or include food.

    I thought that way too.

And the proceeded to get a 13oz pour of BA big hugs to after 4 hours of drinking.

The body has a limit. It's greater for some, but dear lord, it will let you know.
