Anyone going to Oak Park Beer Fest today?

We have Ghost Tropic, Sparkling Rose Ale and Atomic Child pouring and I'll be there!

Went in for lunch yesterday and had a couple of different flights. First one I did was Betty White. Mind you, I tried it before I realized it was Malort inspired. Jesus Christ! Hahaha.

Really digging Night Moth. Thought the vanilla flavors from the oak really melded the hop flavors together. Gonna miss this place when I move.

Was lucky enough to have a friend of mine grab me some Snoochie cans at the release last Tuesday.

Cracked open one of the cans and poured it in my favorite 16oz tumbler that when I held it up to the light see how opaque and cloudy the beer was I noticed a bunch of floaties and some yeast chunks at the bottom of the glass. Did not seem to detract from the flavor of the beer until the last sip but I got to admit this is the first time I'm noticing that in a New England style IPA. If anybody has any thoughts or comments I appreciate the feedback .

Thought snoochie was pretty solid and look forward to trying other Forbidden Root beers and I got really excited when I saw radio Swan was going to be released again because I thought that beer was almost perfect.

    Cheers

This has absolutely happened to me with Trillium, Tree House, Alchemist, etc. Nothing to worry about at all.

Finally cracked a Snoochie can 2.0...this version improved on the original can release. Less bitter, fruitier, more slam-worthy on a summer night. Forbidden Root is my dark horse #3* NE IPA provider...and like #1 (Corridor)** the arrow seems to be pointing up. I've still never had a Forbidden Root IPA that blew me away, but each canned release has been better than the last.

*Caveat: I did not have the 3 Floyds collaboration
**Mikerphone is still #2 but the 750 format & 1.5 hour round trip journey are worrisome for my continued support

You must not drink too many of the NE style IPAs or you've been incredibly lucky - Like @THANAT0PSIS said, I get it all the time (some worse than others). Nothing to worry about for sure. Although Ive taken to not during out the last bit of the can (similar to a Belgian) to avoid too much sediment.

StayLit was legit. That was my DLD line share beer. Perfect for the early afternoon.

Mikerphone now has the majority of their beers hitting distro now, and much faster! Hooray!

I've seen this in all the Alchemist stuff I've had (my fave, Focal Banger is kind of disgusting-looking in a glass, honestly), and had some sediment in the King Sue bottle I drank last night.

I actually like seeing stuff like this in my beer, because I feel like I can see all the hops they threw in!

Thanks for the responses, I just never really held any of these up to light before so I never noticed. Completely digging the Chicagoland Haze and it just keeps getting better all the time.

    Cheers

Damn, another one...must get to Forbidden Root to try their stuff. So many breweries, so little time for visitors... sounds great. Thanks guys...learning a lot from the banter in these forums.

Had a chance to stop in at Forbidden Root for the first time yesterday. Kept it simple and had a Radio Swan and a taste of Night Moth (which were both delicious) because I had to be somewhere at 5:00 but had to return later in the evening while I was still in the neighborhood to try Ghost Tropic. Glad I did because that had to be one of the best NEIPA's I have tried in Chicago. Also had a chance to meet @KrajDoesBeer while I was there. Great place, attentive staff and outstanding beer. Can't wait to stop in again.

Atomic Child release on Wednesday will include new glassware. I've heard there is competing glassware between @KrajDoesBeer and @BJP . Rumor has it that Kraj's glass > BJs' glass. :sunglasses:

Yes there is... you do not want to know what happens when @BJP loses this bet of who's sells the fastest.

When can we see FR blend their botanical side with their NEIPA side? Some sort of Fruity NEIPA with some Fernetic spice attributes?

Does it have anything to do with controlling the music at FR?
