Oh, I loved that ale! It's a "knockout beer"!

 

5.3% alcohol. 35 IBU. Didn't detect much orange, honestly.

A well earnt Verdant: IPA after several hours waking some peaks this morning/ afternoon.

 

Whoa, that last one went down quick!
Next up Partizan: Porter.

Good morning, BAs! Starting out my last summer Thursday with Surf the Calm, an Amarillo IPA from the usual. Thanks for this @larryi86 !

 

Packaged 10/16/15 and it's as oily as ever with a lot of dark roast. I'd say it was worth the wait! Some ominous looking clouds are starting to roll in off the lake. I hate to say it, but it reminds me of a fall day.

Something has put me in the mood for this......

Ginger ale like color with white cap and little lacing.

Aroma is clean fresh yeast bread with touches of herbal, spicy and somewhat floral hops.

Taste on entry is malt/grain forward with hops adding a lift. Carbonation provides more prickle than hops and at 17 IBU this one is a bit higher than what we usually find in standard AALs. Finish is clean, again, more bubbles, yet there is something mildly nutty in the aftertaste. Hops are present but you have to search for them.

Medium texture with a little more carbonation than is needed.

As old brands go this one still has legs. Pours a light color with a pleasing though mild aroma. Good flavor on the lighter side, medium texture, well balanced overall. No, it's not all malt, it has adjuncts and should be evaluated in that light. Stands up well though.
