Cheers you all! I think this Oktoberfest is festy and clever in it's use of hops. New Beer Sunday is coming. I have plans. My plans include a gratin.

Ok, so this might be my favorite if the day. Having had all of the recent Bottle Logic, Bourbon County, etc., this could easily compete and potentially beat all of those. They are about to start bottling. This is going to blow up!

Wow!! I know Engert (pictured) likes Belgian beers, so it's not a surprise he and Blue Jacket are there (brewery-pub in D.C. near Nats stadium), but still a little funny to see them posted in this fashion. Mexican Radio is the best I've had from them.

(Blue Jacket is associated with other venues such as Church Key, The Sovereign, and Rustico with Engert as beer manager of the restaurant group - at least I'm fairly certain this situation hasn't changed)

    Great beer.
Not much of a boat, though. How's that Concord out on the water, Sailor?

Never had the BA version but the base beer was the first beer my mom (not a beer fan at all, but tries them on occasion) tried and said, "I didn't know beer could taste like that." And then proceeded to steal a few more sips before the glass was empty.

Now I'm really curious about te BA version :yum:

A decent beer for sure but I still prefer coffee in my stouts/porters so... Early Riser > Tough Kitty.

Inspired to split another BA stout for some odd reason:

As with the last bottle, I think this has crested any cellaring benefits but is still damn tasty.

Refer to BeerVikingSailor's picture above because I'm also drinking a Tallgrass Buffalo Sweat. Gotta drink early because later I'm driving to Colorado for a week of beer fueled camping fun!

Back from second walk this morning with the dogs. I can't complain about all the rain in our forecast, given the pounding Texas is taking; but I can raise a glass to all the TX BA's:

Mephistopheles' Stout, a dark and bittersweet chocolate eye-opener ringing in at 14.6%. October 2016, Batch 12. Poured at 55 degrees and beautiful to behold: black pour with long cinnamon tan cap, moderately heavy lacing and medium legs. Bittersweet chocolate malt, toffee, semi sweet caramel and mildly boozy. Feel is kinda smooth and creamy; slightly warming on the finish. Lite bitter roast linger. An outstanding bigger stout. Grab some where still available-cheers Saturday morning BA's!

Congratulations! A worthy beer drinking accomplishment and such a fine beer on which to end the journey - Cheers!
