Haven't had this since it first came out. This is as good as I remember. Can't believe all the barrel aged goodies from Founders they are bringing back. Bottled CBS is going to create a mass hysteria.

Anyone listen to this version of the song back on Monday?

Too busy a day for a day off for my liking, since College Football is back. Helped a co--worker move. He did buy me lunch & a Margarita, so, that broke down to about $3 a hour :stuck_out_tongue:

Went home & settled in for a nap & got a call from my son up in Oklahoma ( he was visiting his friends there ). He had some overheating issue. I gave him explicit instructions on what to do & told him to call me back. Mama called after that had a friend of ours bail him out ( wanted him to work through the problem ). George bailed him out ( he would've been fine ). We decided to be safe & meet him halfway for dinner in Siloam Springs. We tried out out 28 Springs, not bad, food was good & a solid beer selection. Did see an awesome Bar down the road that mutiple taps, but it looked like no food, Must investigate the next time I am there sans kids. The star of the show was Bike Rack Brewing Co.'s Slaughter Pen IPA, damn tasty!

Now, some SN Oktoberfest & Cowboys/Raiders. D still looks meh

10 Pages! First time with this Clown Shoes brew. I need to stop comparing everything to the great VT beers. This is a very good beer that can stand on it's own. I'll buy this and some more consolation prize again tomorrow morning.

    Terrapin Hi-5
My friend, who is totally kick ass, drove to Disney World, and agreed to pick me up some beer. She picked me up a 6 pack of this, and I've never had it before, till now. It is a nice representation of a west coast IPA. So glad she got it for me.

Pours an amber/orangish color. The head was really frothy, white, and 2 finger. Nice lacing on the glass.
Has a nice citrusy nose. Orange is the flavor I get from it.
The taste is mellow up front, but then a bit of citrus from the hops kicks in.
    Creamy mouthfeel. Moderate body.
Overall a tasty west coast style IPA. Good Job Terrapin.

Delicious! Flavors of big tart/juicy cherries; with grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with honey, light caramel, toasted bread malt balance; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine/grassy/citrus peel bitterness and light fruit tartness on the finish. Medium bodied with balanced bready/grainy malt and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Slight resins and fruit acidity with increasing bitter dryness; no hop/fruit astringency. Literally identical to the Blackberry IPA in every way, but with cherries. Falling out of season, but still tasting great. Blackberry will be back this month according to Perrin. Love it. Refreshingly drinkable, 5.3%.

Really nice Berliner. Flavors of big juicy/lightly tart raspberries, lemon, lime, pear, green apple, cherry, and white grape; with moderate wheat/crackery malt balance; touch of salt and lacto funk. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness and light tangy raspberry notes on the finish. Light-medium bodied; balanced grainy wheat and lactic acidity in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing acidic dryness. Never puckering. Super refreshing, flavorful, and fairly crisp. Much more of a balanced fruit Berliner, even though I love the super jammy/lactic ones as well. Gives a nice showcase of the base style, with balanced pale/wheat malts against the tartness/acidity. Very drinkable. Will gladly buy again, this was much better than the blueberry version to me.

Amazing as always. Finishing off the 4 pack. Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with wheat, white bread dough, light honey malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, grassy, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; balanced bready/grainy creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds and increasing dryness, no hop astringency. Super dank and juicy hops, with great malt balance. Never overly sweet or heavy. Glad to have this as a year round available beer. Newer batches have improved over the one I reviewed originally. Less bitterness and more juiciness. I prefer Boxer a little more, but has not hit the shelf in a few months. This and the Odd Side Dank juice series have been keeping me company since then, so it's not a huge loss. Need to grab another 4 pack as soon as they land again. They didn't show up this week.

Incredible as always. Huge flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, mint, fudge, caramel, molasses, bourbon, toasted oak, vanilla, and some herbal notes from the mint. Light-moderate herbal/roast bitterness, bourbon/oak spice, and cooling mint character on the finish. Great bittersweet balance. Full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel, with some light sticky/chalky roasted notes as well. Touch of roasted dryness. Dangerously smooth, lightly warming alcohol for 10%. The balance of the coffee, mint, and barrel character against the stout grain bill is pretty much perfect; just like the first batch. This is 10 months old now, yet my corner store still has a case on the shelf. I keep grabbing another every few weeks basically. All Odd Sides barrel aged stouts are well worth the price of admission. I am stockpiled with them to last til the next distro release.

    Cheers

Doing some Saturday night lantern restoration. I have been drinking WBC's Oztoberfest every weekend. I've always had a deep appreciation for the wizard of oz, and I do live here, so it strikes a strange chord with me.
