Frankly, I like having the option to drop a chair because it saves me time later in the evening. If I got there at 430 and didn't have a chair down at noon, I'd be waiting until 6-630 to get cans. With the chair I'm in my car at 5:30.

I don't quite follow. Couldn't those people just show up at 5 anyway? If anything it saves a few people that work around there from waiting in line later in the day and others sunburn relief.

It's original idea of letting people inside to spend money seemed logical, but reports are that doesn't really happen. In the end, it mostly just created a spectacle and give TH publicity.

It doesn't matter anymore since you can just show up around 7pm and grab cans anyway. Hype, brand, and wallet fatigue has started to set in while other breweries also got in the game. I do know that it seemed to anger some people more than a policy of having no chairs. Off-putting some customers is a weird business move in a competitive market place.

If you have kids, you don't really want to spend dinner time waiting in line for beer. The chair system saves the people who are able to drop off right at noon a lot of time later in the day. And judging by the prices and number of cans they sell at these releases, they don't appear to have alienated enough people for it to matter.

If they wanted people inside they'd have done wristbands or something instead of clogging the sidewalks with chairs. And the chairs are a mild annoyance if you happen to be walking around there around a release. If you're upset about the chairs, it's probably because you have the time to wait around all day and don't like that you can't leverage that ability to get first dibs on the beer. The chairs actually help to level the playing field, at least a little bit, for people who can't just stand in line for beer for 2 hours on a Wednesday evening.

To me, the miraculous thing is that fights don't break out. The chairs seem to be respected, and the system works.

The chairs work kind of, at least when it is one per person, but you know there are the people that drop a chair and then have 4 friends show up at 4:45.... it would be nice if I worked near the ferm and could drop off a chair at lunch and then go back to work. So because of that if I want beer I have to race down there and then stand behind a bunch of empty chairs. For the most part people are respectful, but there are always the greedy people that make the system kind of shitty. Honestly at this point it is just going to limit how often I go for cans. I do like that they don't sell out as quickly anymore (except for shakes).

If they enforced 1 person per chair, the dropper would just bring a chair for each person coming with. Wouldn't change anything for us non-chair people, and only serve to have more chairs strewn around Ardmore.

There's no way to do this that is going to make it optimal for everyone, especially with the brewery in the middle of a fairly crowded town. The chair system seems to work about as well as any system would. At least it saves the first ~100 people from having to stand around for an hour or 2.

I have to say that this most recent version of Copy & Paste is much better than a beefed up version of Hop Hands...That's all. You can now return to your regularly weekly scheduled chair melt-down

Almost 600 allotments, I wouldn't be surprised if it lasted until tomorrow, might be a stretch for Are You OK?

It was. Showed up at 6:15, had to wait down Athens a ways. Made it up to the front to hear they ran out of Are You OK about 5 people in front of me, right around 7.

When a big crowd shows up for a beer, I don't understand why they don't lower the limit if they set it at 2 4-packs. Super-annoying. Not quite as bad as the Out of the Emptiness release where people waited in the cold rain for an hour to not get any with a 6 bottle limit, but still annoying.

Because if they announced a 12 can limit and then reduced it right in front of you, you'd be the same guy complaining about changed limits. When they announce a limit they should stick with it. Trying to figure out if the line is smaller than normal, normal, bigger than normal, smaller with more chairs, less chairs but more people, etc is not worth their time IMO.

I actually wouldn't, but thanks for making stupid assumptions about people you don't even know.

They have to send out line-wranglers based on how many people show up, so they know when a line is longer than usual. And they surely know why. Wouldn't take much time, and satisfying customers should be worth their time. They won't be the only game like theirs in town forever. People will remember shabby treatment.

Tired Hands sold out their stock of beer today using their method. A business success for this company.

The 'interesting' aspect is that this will in all probability not result in a diminishment of support from their vociferous defenders despite their present day "annoyance".

Edit: Whoa, maybe this will not be the case here!?!

    Cheers!

grabbed my allotment of Are you OK? and then went in to the Ferm for an 8oz pour. Pretty legit. For reference no chair got in to line at 5:15pm and got to the front around 6:45ish.
