I called Bierstadt Lagerhaus and they are sticking to the rules and not serving their Octoberfest beer until Sept. 16th. Has anyone heard of any breweries around Denver Metro Area who have started serving Octoberfest beers yet?
Docktoberfest cans are definitely around. Left Hand's is, too. The first week of September is right around when most places start tapping them. Mid-month is standard for traditionalists. If this year is anything like last year, we might have one of the highest quality scenes in the country. Docktoberfest, Bierstadt, Prost, S26, Comrade, and Grimm all had VERY high quality versions. If Left Hand ever goes back to their recipe from 4+ years ago they would, too.
We're tapping our Oktoberfest at Station 26 on September 23rd. The maßkrüges will be ready. Our lederhosen and dirndls are ironed and waiting (are yours?). The Polkanauts will playing live on the patio. Smokestack 70 will be grilling up brats along with their full menu. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1675970395748135
My favorite so far this year is Left Hand's, but I haven't been able to find it the last couple weeks. Grimm Bros. is pretty damn good, though. I got a 12'er of Sierra Nevada's Ofest a few weeks ago, and all it did was make me wish I'd bought more Left Hand. I miss my Left Hand.
