Hopefully this makes it to Friday. I've been very impressed with Oxbow's recent releases. The Blueberry wine BA Liquid swords was amazing

The iteration of Native Wild I had at the bottle tasting @ Novare during Portland Beer Week was outrageous... well worth the price tag and i'm sad the bottle limit is 4pp. ISO extras.

    Accompaniments might increase attendance

It's ridiculous. As good as Resurgam and Spon, if not better. It has the aspects of a classic gueuze with the Oxbow house flare. Also, the bottle pour list was insane. First time I was able to try Lou Pepe and De Cam without selling my first born.

Did it look like they had a decent amount of it? I'm heading up tomorrow and hoping to grab bottles

I was there around 3:30-4pm. I saw at least a pallet of it. I'm sure you'll be good. 3 barrels deep lasted all weekend, I'm sure this will be similar with the limit.

Oxbow just started distributing here in Chicago and I picked up two bottles. Momoko and BAFPA - excited to try them, but agree with the overpricing discussion. I definitely had sticker shock when I saw what they cost.

Sorry you had to sell your first born the other time you tried those two :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:.

Worth every penny they charge in my opinion.

Does any body know if their still selling native bottles out of their tap room in Portland? I'll be up there tomorrow morning.

I was there around 1:30 and they was only one layer left on the pallet. They might have had more in the back but I'm not really sure.

The beer is phenomenal. One of the best they've made

Oxbow is making better beer than anyone else, IMO.

Still bottles of native as of opening. Coolship resurgam on tap as well.

This is such a sweeping generalization and such a crazy and wildly outrageous hot take but I am honestly on board with it.

The more oxbow I drink the more the fanboyism intensifies. They don't hit my hop fix but I don't need them to. The beers they do brew are so well conceived and executed I'm blown away every time. They hold my spot for the top 2 beers I've ever had and I've had way too many beers.

I'll go ahead and say it too. They are making better beer than anyone else.

I bought some at around 2pm. Didn't look like a ton left at that time, unless they had more boxes somewhere else.

I've got a whole bunch of Oxbow news to share with you jerks.

Gonna get the gushing out of the way first:

Native Wild is really, really good. I'm going to hold off on cracking the rest of my bottles because I do think it's going to get a whole lot better with some more age. But for Oxbow's first shot at a lambic, I'm blown away. Green apple skin cider with a wedge of lemon and that signature Oxbow background.

Resurgam is just about my favorite beer of all time so I can't help but compare the two...Resurgam still takes the lead for me because of its effervescence. Native Wild is a tad thin and flat(which is expected for Lambic, but Resurgam seems to be an exception). I cracked a bottle with my wife and she's not a fan so I've been enjoying this 750 all by myself today.

And now to actually contribute to this thread:

1: Apparently the Liquid Swords released this past summer wasn't the 'official' 2017 Liquid Swords so we're still going to see one of those this year.

2: The gang reserved some Native Wild and did a second aging, one batch in whiskey barrels(yes) and one batch in blueberry barrles(YES). We might see these in a few months.

3: Cavern is currently aging in barrels. Bigger batch than last year so it might see bottles!
