The Half-Acre thread (2018)

Oh, that. Actually here in Chicago through mid-December, hence my mini-ventures here.
What can I say? I'm a convert to the beer scene here and to Chicago in general...

 

Lol, wait 3 months....Winter is coming....and not in the good plot heightening way.....

 

Well... if I'm supposed to be scared that "winter is coming" I just hear: "more dark beers are coming..."

 

I haven't been to Balmoral yet, with this announcement about being more family-friendly, does anyone know if the outdoor area will be dog friendly as well? I haven't seen anything aside from the HA announcement, so just curious if anyone had heard anything.

 

I don't see why it wouldn't be its an outrageously large outdoor space.

 

My guess would be yes, but that's based on nothing, outside of the fact that it's a large space, and HA is full of cool people.

 

Both of those reasons are my assumptions as well (at least for having it happen at some point).

 

Welp. Friday. Two new beers today being released....time to head up there.

 

Madhouse. Wish they'd release NOT on Fridays...

 

It is a holiday weekend. It'll also be better once Balmoral opens.

 

Lager town was released what else?

 

Gone Away was new on tap last night and tasting super-bright-spicy hoppy to my palate.
Lagertown is outstanding! Did like a dozen Oktoberfest beers over the last week at various German places in Chicago (Laschett's, Resi's, etc) and I have to say... I loved Lagertown. And I'm not even a huge fanatic of the style, just had a 10 oz cause it was a new release and wanted to try it. Delicious, toasty, snappy, right balance of sweet and bitter - so clean. Thumbs up.
My one mistake last night was dumping some of my 'sample' Johnny's One Ton TIPA into a pint of space -

 

Animal law was just tapped recently as well, tasting excellent

 

Agreed - one of their first forays into the hazy ale/IPA territory (despite what others would like to think)...and tasty. LA Looks had an even more hazy/fruity/tropical aspect to it but it was killed quickly last week. Good stuff, as always. The range of what they produce never fails to impress me...

 

La looks still available in cans to go by chance?

 

Kemosabe (no idea... call the retail shop). Was so...under the influence last night I bought yet ANOTHER HOODIE from HA. My wife is gonna give me even more shit... :L

One shelf full in fridge case today at noon. Not sure what's in back, nothing on the floor. I grabbed several selections
