Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Not much going on here today. Got an Irish Red ale to keg today and some lines to clean. Will definitely be making a trip out to get a haul of new beers. I have almost ran out of stuff to review again. A common occurrence these days after nearly 5750 reviews.

    Beers this morning:

Top tier Oktoberfest as usual. Big flavors of toasted biscuit, caramel, brown sugar, and nutty malts; with light herbal/peppery noble hop presence. Light herbal/spicy balancing hop bitterness. Great medium-plus bodied creamy/bready mouthfeel. Super clean lager flavors, no cloying sweetness. Minimal dryness. Such a pristine offering for the style. I should probably buy a full 6 pack, been grabbing singles. Just found out I love the new Sierra Nevada as much as this one, so will definitely be getting more of both. Add the Ayinger and it's my Oktoberfest trifecta. Haven't had it yet this year.

Awesome DIPA. Flavors of big guava, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate cracker, lightly toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied/carbonation. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds and increasing dryness, minimal hop astringency. Very drinkable, minimal warming ABV. Absolutely spot on as expected of Clown Shoes. Vibrant and dank hops; with nice guava fruit presence, and solid malt backbone without being sweet/heavy. Doesn't go overboard on the fruit. Hope we see more of their cans soon. This was the first.

Insane NE DIPA! Aromas and flavors of huge passion fruit, papaya, peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, guava, berry, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon/orange zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, white bready malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, grassy, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body. Bready/grainy wheat creaminess and some hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness, never astringent. Absolutely unreal amount of drink-ability. Minimal warmth of 9%. Tropical fruit smoothie in a glass. A bit of dank, but is pure juice on hops. Never overly sweet/heavy feeling for the ABV. Definitely hope to get better access to this brewery soon. I've loved everything so far. This is top tier quality for an NEIPA style, just as good or better as any hyped east coast ones I've had.

2017 is tasting fantastic! Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of dark fruit, smoke, and charcoal. Roasted bittersweet and bourbon/oak spicy balanced finish. Full bodied, awesome creamy/silky and lightly slick mouthfeel; with some lightly drying chalky roast and tannic oak/bourbon notes after the finish. Pleasantly warming finish, zero boozy barrel notes. Very smooth sipper. I thought the 2016 batch was an improvement over the 2015 original batch; this does another step forward for me with the higher ABV. Fantastic barrel integration and balance with the coffee and malts, without being overly boozy on the barrels. I usually reserve most Weyerbacher BBA beer for a year or more, but this one does not seem to need as much mellowing from the barrel booze aspect.

Trying Stone White Ghost. I'm not a fan of sour beer but since this ended up on the shelf of the local monopoly and I've yet to have a beer labeled Berliner weisse I figured I might as well try it. The beer has an enjoyable yoghurt-like aroma with some distinct fruitiness (I'm thinking peach yoghurt) which I'm guessing is from the hops. Flavorwise it is sour, and sourness it is not a flavor I enjoy in beer, but it is not as bracingly sour as the Oude Geuze I had. It has some pleasant fruitiness to it as well but the sourness predominates. It's not for me but it's still an interesting beer.

Good morning...no photo as my phone is recharging but scored an old bottle of Founders Breakfast Stout. First time for me, and even if it's last year's release, it still tastes delicious to me. Cheers all...

Krombacher Pils. It has been some time when I had this ather tasteful German pilsner.

The VW bottle opener is actually from the car. A car equipped with a bottle opener still a bit strange to me. VW is a German brand, maybe that explains
    Cheers!

Normally the opener is fitted in the mid console of the car.

New seasonal offering from Modern Times. This one is hazier than Booming Rollers or City of the Sun, and definitely has a slightly softer mouthfeel. Canned 8/28 so pretty fresh!

To me there's a phenolic note to it, that I have been finding a lot in canned IPAs. I'm not sure if it's just a specific hop I don't like, or if I'm sensitive to 7%+ ABV.

But get past that and it's actually got a good tropical vibe to it. A lot more fruity than forementioned BR/CotS. I think Oneida is currently my favorite seasonal, but I wouldn't mind picking this one up again.
