ever try sailing a fast sailboat solo, drink a beer, not spill it, and not flip over? I think it should be a new Olympic sport! Haha

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Should be another normal day as usual. Need to take my bottle returns back, laundry, and do some overtime work to catch up for tomorrow. I got an additional program assigned to me last week to clean up engineering databases and stuff. So I've been pretty busy. Got a nice haul of new beers to review yesterday afternoon.

    Beers this morning:

Really nice IPA. Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate toasted bread, light caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/rind/spicy bitterness. Medium bodied; balanced bready/grainy creaminess and sticky/resinous hops. Increasing resin/rind dryness, with slight astringency. Very easy drinking. A really delicious classic C hopped IPA. Columbus, Centennial, and Cascade; with pretty strong emphasis on the Columbus hops. We just got Uinta recently, hoping to see more new stuff to review. I reviewed this years ago, but it's been nice to return to it again. I had the Tangerine version recently as well, but don't prefer one over the other. Worth grabbing as singles every so often.

Awesome IPA! Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, lime, melon, green pepper, citrus rind, and pine hops; with some light honey, toasted bread malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness. Moderately dry and sticky/resinous finish, with balancing grainy malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Never astringent on bitterness, and very bright on hop flavors. I love this stuff. It showcases a lot of the unique characteristics of Equinox hops in the flavor profile, along with the citrus/rind/piney notes of the C hops that are there. Big fan of Equinox. Finished off the 6 pack. Got a super fresh pack of Fresh Squeezed to enjoy now.

My go-to fall brown ale, always excellent. Flavors of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, toffee; and lighter chocolate, cocoa, and nutty malts; with some herbal, grassy, peppery, citrusy hops. Touch of dark fruit. Light herbal, grassy, spicy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied with a really nice creamy/bready mouthfeel. Light hop stickiness, chalky roast, and a bit of increasing dryness. Touch silky. Really great malt complexity and mouthfeel; and not as hoppy or drying as most American Browns. Has a bit of an English brown feel to it as well. Great balance. I had to revisit my review last year. Much more impressive than I remembered; but maybe my style appreciation levels have come into proper alignment. A lot of reviews for classic beers have been revisited and increased in the last couple years.

My BIL got me this for my birthday a couple months ago. I reviewed it 6 months ago, the bottle is 1 year old now. This is insane! One of the thickest looking beers I've ever seen. Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, fudge, licorice, raisin, cherry, prune, tobacco, vanilla, charcoal, smoke, toasted dark bread, and toffee; with some herbal/piney/spicy hops. Moderate roast/char and piney/spicy hop bitterness on the finish. Super full bodied; thick and rich with a creamy/silky/slick mouthfeel; some chalky char/roast and sticky hops as well. Light resins with increasing bitter/char dryness. Zero acrid roast astringency. Pleasantly warming 13.8%, zero booziness. Insanely easy sipper. This just absolutely kills it for an RIS. Insane complexity. Really similar to BORIS in flavors, yet even more rich and intense. My rating is pretty much identical overall between the two. World class for the style. Will gladly grab up any more shelf sitters next time I visit my parents in Ohio.

Good morning BAs! This is a cross post with NBS, while I wait impatiently for my target assignment in NBS BIF #6! I've almost finished my home projects for the summer and I want to go on some distant beer shopping trips!

Good morning BA's! Was fun last night posting wit ya'all! Putting the chairs and tables into the pool to reduce the flying objects. They did lower our projected max winds to 65-80 mph, good news. We'll i got the "dumb-ass" look from the miss's when I grabbed a Big Storm Oktoberfest for breakfast, she just doesn't get my sense of humor:slight_smile: I'm enjoying this beer, not a big-ass caramel taste but a smooth one that doesn't linger forever. Cheers![IMG]

No, not that Vic Secret, ya pervs...

But don't worry, it's just as sexy...

Gonna drop my beer review thoughts and NFL meanderings in NBS once I've finished processing what I'm drinking, but I can tell you about halfway through the tallboy that this is a really great beer - only got one on hand, but I'll likely go back for more this week...

Last night I was re-watching this fight...

Perhaps not exciting per se, but just a clinic by one of today's best, Vasyl Lomachenko...

And today I get to ring a birthday bell for Mirko Filipović, 43...
Cro Cop was always a fave - one of only two fighters to win both a kickboxing and MMA championship, but also a 6-year member of the elite Croatian special forces police unit, and he even served a term in their Parliament - always struck me as a class act - and tough as nails with a 35-11 MMA record and a 23-8 kickboxing record... Not a terribly complex fighter, clearly a striker (kicks to the head anyone?), but hey, it worked for him...

The only time I wasn't in his corner, so to speak, was when he fought Fedor...

No one fucks with Fedor - prolly still my reigning all-time fighter of any sort... Don't know what he's thinking by fighting now, but what do I know?

    Cheers, BA...

It's finally Football Sunday and i'm getting started early. As a Bills fan my one rule is to only drink local beer on gameday, and i'm also making some wings later!
For my first local offering..Resurgence Imperial BA Breakfast Ale. It's a smoked Irish red with maple and coffee added, and then of course the bourbon.I love the base beer which isn't imperialized, and i love this too.

Happy Sunday! @Greywulfken, thanks for the Cro Cop highlights. Nothing like watching grown men getting their brains beaten in to start your Sunday!

Hope the new batches of this start dropping soon. After this one, I only have two left.

Good luck to Florida today. Waiting to hear back from my brother. Maybe watching his station's broadcasts might be the best way for me to see he's okay.

    Cheers, advocates!
