There may be a thread on this already but don't really have time to check ATM... Driving back to Florida but we're making a pit stop to see some family in NC. They are just outside of Charlotte (Indian Trail I think). You guys have any good NE IPA's up in this area? Would like to bring some good beer home with me
Headed to Alabama with a stop in Charlotte also. I'm looking for any good brews myself. I would hope that Charlotte has some hopping good beers (or malty for that matter) for me to take home? [OP: not trying to hijack your post.. just didn't see any sense in duplicating]
Definitely no need to duplicate. Lots of great info here. Happy reading. https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...q=Charlotte&o=date&c[title_only]=1&c[node]=17
Indian Trail is a little out of the city but an easy drive up Independence blvd to Heist. They typically have 1-3 NE IPA's on later in the week (they sell out quickly so don't expect much on a monday). They almost always do 32oz crowlers of the IPA's. Citraquentral is a top 10 rated IPA in the county right now.
High Branch in Concord will have some hazy IPAs and possibly some cans if you're around Wednesday . They have growlers to go and are open Wednesday through Sunday.
Good call on Hiest. Their Thirst is phenomenal! Not sure how it's not rated higher on Untapped... I'll be leaving with as many crowlers of this as they'll let me take, lol
I've heard great things about Resident Culture out in Plaza Midwood. Only had one of their beer so far (Too Much Metal Pale Ale), but it was pretty good.
My wife and I spent Sunday evening (5.5 hours) at Heist. Unfortunately Citraquench'l had sold out before our arrival, but that was the only negative. Thirst is a very good beer, but the evening was all about Ripe. It's one fantastic Pale. We left with a couple of crowlers. We also bought about a case of mix and match local brews from Salud. For those who recommended HB.. THANK YOU! To all others, we just didn't have enough time.. at least this trip we didnt.
Just a quick bump for this: Resident Culture in Charlotte is an IPA lovers dream. I don't think they are doing crowlers yet but the brewery is great. There were 6 IPA's on last night and the two I had (a legit NE IPA and a West Coast IPA) were great. There were also a few other APA on draft as well. The brewer is a formerly of Russian River. The sours they are planning are sitting patiently in barrels.
Agreed - a couple of their kegs have made it to a bottle shop here in the Triad and they have been excellent.
