    Have tried and recommend:
    • 12welve Eyes Citra SMaSH IPA: 12welve Eyes is the best brewery to open in Minnesota in 2017, by far, and this is the best IPA from a Minnesota brewery that opened in 2017.
    • 12welve Eyes Mosaic Wheat IPA: A close second to Citra SMaSH IPA
    • Fair State Lichtenhainer: One of the best smoked beers and one of the best sour beers in the state
    • Sisyphus 2016 Brandy Barrel-Aged Ass/Toy: I love whiskey on its own, but brandy barrels tends to work better for barrel-aging of imperial stouts, and they're all-too-rare.
    • Sisyphus Big Wet Baby: The best beer I've had in 2017. Double IPA with CTZ, Simcoe, Amarillo, Citra, and Mosaic. Between this and Brandy Barrel-Aged Ass/Toy, Sisyphus may be bringing the best pair of beers to the festival.
    • Wild Mind Silla: A very well composed fruited (peach) sour
    Want to try:
    • Badger Hill Honey Badger Autumn IPA: Badger Hill quietly has been producing some very good beer of late, and this one sounds interesting.
    • Bank Hop Lab Green Label: Bank similarly is quietly producing some very good beers, especially in its Hop Lab series.
    • Dangerous Man Barrel Aged Imperial Peanut Butter Porter (Tawny Port): I hesitate to support Dangerous Man in its unfortunate descent into dependence on additive-oriented gimmick beers, but Dangerous Man Peanut Butter Porter may be the best gimmick beer in the state, and I can't say I'm not intrigued by this variation.
    • Lift Bridge Wine Barrel Farm Girl: Farm Girl is a solid if boring flagship, and I suspect a wine barrel-aged, presumably soured version could be good.
    • Lupine Destruction Wheatwine: Lupine is a borderline top 20 brewery in the state that doesn't get its due, and this is an uncommon style with bold flavors.
    • Town Hall Combustion Junction: Smoked beer from Town Hall? I'm in.
    • Northbound Ground Rule Double: Intriguing hop bill on this Double IPA (Triple Pearl, Summit, Simcoe)
    • Spilled Grain Good Intentions: Spilled Grain is the best brewery in the state northwest of the Twin Cities area.
    • Surly Darkness - Cheery [sic] Infused: Reminds me a bit of the great Surly Two
    • Unmapped Freq Drive: Unmapped is the second best brewery to open in the state in 2017 (behind 12welve Eyes), and it has been particularly strong among beers in the IPA family. This one is a Double IPA.
    • Utepils Festbier: Utepils has had a strong start, and I suspect it can produce a good Festbier.
    • Wild Mind Feelin Lucky: Wild Mind may be passing Fair State as the best sour brewery in the state.
    • Wild Mind Mirabelle: See above.
I'm not including any timed releases, because FTS.

I remember last year a kind soul posted a spreadsheet of the ABR beer list. How did they achieve this witchcraft? Is there a way to export the list from the app? Seems like there should be...

Does anyone have any insight as to how Funkwerks is able to attend and pour at this event? Last I knew they weren't distributing in Minnesota.

Ask and you shall receive. It was a fun experiment for me since SQL isn't even close to my area of expertise. But it seems I got it to work. There are a fair number of beers that don't have a style or ABV or other information, and I'm not going to guarantee the formatting is perfect, but the information is here:

WOOHOO!!! Awesome, thank you! (And suffice it to say, SQL is even less my area of expertise.) This is so much easier than clicking through every entry...

surprised tickets are still available. it wasn't too long ago when they'd be gone within minutes.

Do you have to be able to distribute to pour? I was surprised to see WarPigs on tap at the MN State Fair Ballpark Cafe, and the person pouring said they weren't distributed in MN.

Guess it's showing how much I've been paying attention to the local scene lately. I hadn't seen anything screaming "Fruity Bits" locally, kinda forgot they make other beers too.

You have to have an distribution deal to pour. Some breweries have gotten a one day deal to pour at certain events. War Pigs has a distribution deal, they were just starting with tap only first with cans coming later.

Pretty sure you do or at least get something set up temporarily a la Cigar City at All Pints North earlier this summer. As for WarPigs, they do now distribute in Minnesota now. Their first day not coincidentally started the same day as the fair started, August 24th:

    1) Where's Michigan (Founders, Bell's)? Not that they ever showed up with anything other than a few flagship bottles.
    2) Where's Blackstack? I want to try their beer without having to pay a trillion dollars per pour.
    3) PLENTY of stuff to try. Can't wait.

    2) St. Paul connected to Can Can Wonderland

    4) I am thinking in a few years this will be almost all MN breweries. Only about 20 out state ones this year.

Founders didn't bring stuff, but Bells was usually one of the best tents, last year they Had BA Traverse Stout and Black note, in the past they have had BA Batch 9k and other one offs

Bell's usually showed up stacked, Founders has always brought garbage.
