Ask for BJ. Maybe he'll help a brother out.

First just want to say thanks again to Forbidden Root for an insanely smooth release. 3 points of purchase? Totally awesome. Line moves smooth and quick. Just cracked my first can at home. Holy shit. This is the best batch. A slightly little less sweet than the previous batch, a little more rye, but nothing over the top in change from the previous batch, a better balance between the sweetness and the rye. Super fresh dank aroma. So glad to have 3 4 packs of this in my fridge to go through. Killer. [IMG]

Cb - see if they'll put a couple of 4 packs aside. I'll be there in 20 and can bank roll ya for the night.

Just checked by the booth and there's plenty left for anyone still thinking of heading over.

Thanks for the offer, man. I decided to go home and it's probably good I did since my wallet was lying in the street next to where I'd parked. Good to know that I'm not forgetful but just clumsy (and somewhat lucky?). I'll try my chances at retail, and there's always next time.

Well for back luck, that's a decent outcome. If you strike out at retail let me know and we can work something out.

And hats off to the FR crew. Genuinely nice and knowledgeable. I just wish this place were closer as I could log some serious time at that bar.

That peach bellini is on point, loved toro, night moth, the zwickel, and radio swan. You guys are killing it. I walked in at 6:20 and there was no line, went home and had some dinner with the wife and came back to have a few brews. So glad I live within a mile of FR.

Any chance we can get a hint to how much is left? Was hoping to maybe cab it over there on my lunch break and grab a 4-pack for the weekend.

    Thanks @KrajDoesBeer

@KrajDoesBeer / @BJP any idea on what Forbidden Root will have for the Capone's Customer Appreciation event on Saturday?

    Thanks

I’m in town from brooklyn for work and was fortunate enough to convince my coworkers to head to FR last night for dinner. Awesome spot. The beers were all fantastic. So was the grain bowl, prob best I’ve had. Radio Swan is killer. Great body and damk aroma. One complaint might be the pricing. Seemed a bit expensive. $7 for an 8oz pour of Toro. Even $7 for a 12oz of Radio Swan was rather pricey. NYC has bars with that sort of pricing but its usually for out of town brews that we rarely get like Tired Hands.

Nice to hear you had a good experience at FR. Us locals are very proud of it. I've got to say, I have a really, really hard time believing that FR's prices you experienced are out of the range of reasonable compared to your experiences in NYC/Brooklyn. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're innocently mistaken as to what similarly high quality 8 oz pours of triple dry-hopped IPA and 12 oz pours of a dank ass juice bomb goes for in your home town:wink:

I spend time in NYC fairly often, and for the most part local beers are usually $5 or $6 for a pint or tulip.

Last time I was there, I drank my full of Grimm IPAs, and it was $5 all day.

I do think Chicago pricing is some of thehigjest I've experienced.

Wouldn't you say the prices at Forbidden Root are fairly comparable to Other Half, especially in the DIPA 12oz for $7/8 realm?

I don't recall paying less than $7 for a beer in Manhattan in the past few years....
