Do you really think they CAN'T brew all their beer in Brooklyn ? Also they might not need a public tasting room but i like to see one.

We have successfully been able to do "batch" dating, which means we can now separate our beers for different markets. As a result, all core beers now have a 6 month code date on them.

looking forward to hear your feedback on 5Beans....

except don't throw out the sauerkraut - it gets better over time ;-)

be careful what you wish for....

if anything, our wholesalers are telling us that they have problems with out-of-stock issues, not with having 9 month old beer on the shelf!

let's set it up! did a tasting with @jRocco2021 and many others over the years, its always fun....

Our current facility and premises in Brooklyn allowed us some room for expansion, but after we maxed out the footprint it did not offer us the scalability we needed to go through our next wave of increased capacity. I'm very happy that we made the most responsible choice of utilizing and repurposing excess capacity in the industry, and taking the time to focus on the quality of our beer and our formulations and developing our culture within the company, and investing in our people.

We are working on some really great projects right now for our patient and awesome fans in Brooklyn and beyond, and we are very excited to share them with you when we are done. I can assure you we want this as badly as you do!

    cheers

@Sixpoint - So here in California the date on the 6 pack box shows Oct. 2016...is that from April 2016 (canning date)? Will we here in Southern California (LA/OC area) be getting regular distribution of Sixpoint beers? Core & seasonal? And only at certain stores?

yes, that is an April packaging date, meaning that beer is super fresh and about 2 weeks old

we aren't doing a full distribution blitz in your area at the moment, but if things go well, we will incrementally bring out more beer for your enjoyment ;-)

    cheers

@Sixpoint already chimed in about capacity, but I wanted to respond to your second point. I too would like to see a tasting room. Well, at least this would have been true back when I lived in Brooklyn and spent many weekend afternoons in Red Hook (like you, I'm no longer in the area). Would anyone not like to see this? (rhetorical question) I made my comment because many here behave like there is some sort of obligation for a brewery to have one. I find it ridiculous that at times Sixpoint gets borderline trash-talked about it in these forums.

This isn't aimed at you @joe16siny , but the OP ponders if it's cheaper to brew out of state and "still say that it's from Brooklyn." It's not an apples to apples comparison as pointed out by Sixpoint, but to just talk about it hypothetically - let's say it is cheaper to make the beer in another state. This is portrayed in a very negative light, as if Sixpoint wouldn't be passing those savings onto the customer. If it is cheaper to brew and package out of state at that capacity, would customers be happier if they brewed their canned beer in Brooklyn and the price of a six pack went up (all hypothetical)?

After how much I felt Lo-Res was a disaster and the Sweet Action reformulation was a dud, this feels like it might be enough to make me have faith in them again. I'd still get one 4 pack and see how it is first.
