    So sorry to hear the sad news, he sounds like he was a really fun guy to hang with. I raise my glass right now to Uncle Vic. :anguished:

    Thank you. He had a lot of years with a lot of life in them. He lived at home healthy until this last stop at the hospital. Gonna miss the guy.

    That is a great song. I've watched the Pet Sounds doc that's on Showtime right now, and I love how that song came together. Al Jardine. An old folk song. Sorry to hear about your uncle. He had good taste in music though.
    @lester619

    Here is the original version of that song. It's a beautiful song.

    What did you think of the Saint Arnold? Right now that beer is dead last of the 6 different Oktoberfest beers brewed in Texas I've tasted thus far. Too malty and sweet.

    Whenever that song came on the radio my dad would turn it up. He died in '88 at the age of 64 and was an advocate for good beer since the late 60's when he would bring home a different imported beer almost every Friday night and share with us teenage boys. Cheers to you and your great uncle!

    The last time I had this was it's first release. I had a few sips of the blown keg. The beer has miraculously eluded me since. I think this is an appropriate celebratory beer ( @thebeers ) and definitely not some "California swill" ( @JouerAvecLeFeu ). Excellent. Cheers!

    Awesome IPA! Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate toasted biscuit, light caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slight resins and increasing bitter dryness, never astringent. I haven't had the regular in a few years, but I can definitely say that I love this as much as I remember. The hops are more vibrant and juicy, with some light dankness; has a nice malt backbone, but is never sweet. Very drinkable. Love Simcoe hops. Definitely less bitter than the regular, but more bitter than the site notes claim.

    Delicious fruit stout. Flavors of big juicy blueberries, caramel, maple syrup, toffee, chocolate, cocoa, toast, dark bread, and light smokey maltiness; with a touch of herbal hops. Bittersweet balanced roasted finish with slight fruit tartness. Medium bodied and very creamy/silky, with slight chalky roast character in the mouthfeel. Touch of roasted dryness. Not super complex, but this nails the idea down to a T. This tastes like blueberry pancakes with balanced chocolaty stout notes mixed in. Vaguely similar to Dark Horse Tres, but less roasty on the malt character. Glad this is year round now. A rotational favorite.

    Amazing DIPA! Finishing off the 4 pack I got. Flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread, light honey/caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied and moderately crisp; balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins, increasing bitter dryness, zero hop astringency. Insanely drinkable; never overly aggressive. Extremely vibrant, juicy, and dank hops; with a great malt backbone. Never sweet or heavy feeling. One of the most refreshingly drinkable DIPAs I've ever had.

    Fantastic quad. Glad these are year round 4 packs. Flavors of raisin, plum, fig, date, lightly tart cherry, apple, pepper, clove, brown sugar, brown bread, toffee, vanilla, toasted oak, bourbon, coconut, and yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast/oak spice and light fruit tartness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full bodied. Creamy/grainy with slight slick/syrupy notes in the mouthfeel; but still ending nicely crisp and drying from carbonation, yeast spice, and barrel tannins. Awesome barrel balance, with great well rounded complexity from yeast and malts. Very smooth sipping, mildly warming 11.9%. Hoping to see Sixth Glass 4 packs around here soon. Need to revisit. I've been buying this beer very often in my mix 6 packs. Pretty much my favorite year round barrel aged beer right now.

    Love this album all the way through. Insomnium has never released an album that hasn't been fantastic.

    Apparently Devin is working on 4 more albums this year. Going to be amazing

    In honor of @lester619 uncle Vick. I am gigantic punk/hardcore/early hip-hop fan but Pet Sounds is unquestionably one of the greatest albums ever made.
