Good morning BAs! Today's New Breakfast Beer is Tyranena's Carnal Knowledge Double Oatmeal Stout. For me, this is a great introduction to the Tyranena brand. No pictures however; my camera is locked in the car and I don't feel like getting dressed, riding the elevator, and going to my car this chilly morning here in MI.

Yea it's ridiculous how good it is. I can't get it here in Mo, but it seems like wherever it's distributed there's always ample supply. Found it in Wichita last week and stocked up.

    Good morning BA
I'm reviewing another Oktoberfest this morning. Here's today's contender...
This was really good. I grabbed a single off the back of the shelf on delivery day, so no light damage. I'd only had one single of this previously two years ago in a side by side with four other beers. I've learned I can't tell anything with that method because, apparently, when I see 5 mugs of beer, I just want to drink them. Notes are sketchy from that night but here's the 2015 picture.

@zid asked me what I preferred in an Oktoberfest yesterday on NBS following a comment I had made. I omitted Spaten because I didn't really remember. It needs to be added to the list. Excellent traditional Marzen.

A not so lazy Monday with much to do this week before heading west. I'm continuing the fridge clean out with this Mikkeller&18th Street collaboration named Atomic Whale. A rye Russian imperial stout with cherry added. While it doesn't qualify for whale status in my opinion, it is a rather decadent beer that held up well. It's very reminiscent of the Hunter cherry variant with oily dark chocolate complemented by some cherry in the finish. I'm going to take a breather with a glass of this and get back to my list of things to do. Let's have a great week!

    The real atomic whale......

I agree except KBS is much easier to find around here and at friendlier price. I have no problem drinking KBS by the case every year!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I really enjoyed the bolder coffee profile when it was fresh. Cheers.....

Daaaaang! Last year, I believe The Staff had the overwhelming chore of collaging a grand total of 9 steins for the first week of Stein Club Sunday. This year, we were overwhelmed with the 36(ish) enthusiastic entries!!! Though the host(s) are truly lazy as hell, we are so very honored in the participation, enthusiasm, and support that you Advocates have displayed here for the wonderful celebration that is Oktoberfest on WBAYDN, and hope you enjoy this display of awesomeness that would equate to nothing without your contributions. Prost my friends, and I will see you all soon!

*And remember, The Staff are only human(s)! If “we” have forgotten any of your wonderful submissions, please forgive our worldly mistakes! All vessels are loved equally, but the typically large quantity of consumed alcoholic beverages (especially on Sundays) does reflect on our ability to perform our duties accurately and responsibly. Prost!

    Something simple with lunch . . .

Light, bright yellow color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of slightly bready malt and floral hops.

Taste is mildly malty on entry with hops playing a larger role as we advance to the finish. Hops manage to be present without being bitter and the finish is clean without anything untoward in the aftertaste.

Very popular Euro Lager with the light color, texture, mild malt and hops of that ilk. No better or worse than a number of others but this one has caught on in popularity. The fact the name is easy to pronounce might be helping.
