Expanding Symmetry and Strange Loops are two of the better ipas ive had lately. St. Errant is really impressing so far. Huge aromatics and a drier finish that many others around here, without any yeasty astringency that seems to plagues other breweries

I haven't been "wow"-ed by Mikerphone in awhile (the last batch of Check 1,2 was a disappointment), but I have to shout out Mike for honoring his roots & giving some upstarts equipment & time to brew at his Elk Grove Village location.

Looking forward to trying their stuff, but haven't come across any St. Errant yet...

I've seen it around - I just am over buying 750 ml bottles of IPA (or really anything for that matter). Too many canned options out there.

Completely agree, honestly. I'd buy St. Errant to try it, but if all things are equal, I'm buying the 12 or 16 oz. can every time.

I'm just stuck in the FR/Corridor release cycles. They keep putting out good new things every week so I don't have time to try other stuff....

Yup. For the longest time I was a big proponent of larger bottles of beer ("MOAR DRINKING AT ONE TIME FOR MEEEE"), and then I started getting more and more 4-packs of the same sort of stuff, and realized how great it was to have "extra" servings sitting around. It's hard to justify a $10-12 bomber (or 750 mL) when for the same (or close to the same) price I can drink not only more times, but more liquid overall.

But yet purchases of 32 oz crowlers are somehow different?. Its more oz than a 750, so pardon my confusion.

For me, crowler's from Corridor work because I know I'm getting it packaged fresh and I live not too far away.

I'd prefer them be in 16 oz cans....and soon I'll be in luck!!

But they're not my preferred format either. I do feel they keep the beer more fresh than a howler/crowler.

Personally, I only buy a crowler or howler if I'm hanging out with someone either that night or the next. Whenever I get a bomber/750, I almost always end up drinking it myself some random weekend.

I always end up drinking it and then taking shots (with people who refuse to drink my beer).

And then being hungover the next day (especially if it's a Monday).

Crowlers are still not ideal since I'd rather not drink 32 oz. at once, but the freshness + bang for your buck + the fact that it's usually a place like FR or Corridor makes it worth it. 4-packs are still preferred in that situation, though.

I have to say the new batch, just put on tap, of Three Floyd's 25 Million Dollar man is really tasty! They seem to really be dialing this beer in.

Brony from Illuminated Brew Works is a huge surprise. I'm picking up another bottle of two tomorrow, really good stuff.

    The description caught my eye....

"This hazy, superfruity IPA was brewed in his honor."
