so what's that like a 90-100k loss for them...... well not sure how much it cost to make it but that would be 90-100k in revenue lost anyway

stand up move on their part.... that's crazy

and some people will still re-sell it for over the original price.

Anyone with experience have a view as far as if these now are better to be opened quickly and not cellared at all? Does this problem get worse with time; or the risk of foaming?

Agreed. I will not seek out a refund

*edit* I received an email from Kane pretty much the same as posted above, but concluding with "The refund will post to your accounts within 24-48 hours."

I appreciate the effort but it really is overboard; it would have been more than sufficient to just issue refunds upon complaint. But I understand the justification/business reasons for doing it this way.

However, I don't have to keep the money. I have bought bad beers in the past, much worse than any issues anyone has with this beer. Yet I keep going back, particularly to local breweries, to support what they are doing. So I don't want the money. I intend to make a donation for the full purchase price in the name of Kane Brewing. Will probably do American Cancer Society for personal reasons, unless anyone has a better idea.

Wow, that's incredibly unnecessary. I opened one of my bottles and had absolutely no issue. I feel guilty getting my money back.

Looks like it is all auto refund via eventbrite.

    Very classy move

Wow. way above and beyond what they needed to do. Just another reason Kane is my favorite brewery.

I didn't get bottles (tho I did get one from a generous friend) but agree the automatic refund is not necessary and incredibly classy.

I wonder if they have a favorite charity that people could donate the refunded money to or something along those lines?

Curious about the same. Awesome move by Kane but zero chance for me to get bottles now since:

    1) I am not going to over pay and buy in the secondary market (especially now that I know people selling for double/triple the original price got it for free)
    2) Do not have anything to trade that people would really want (I have all local stuff.. plus see #1, I'm not overpaying...)
    3) No chance on the remaining bottles as they are not going to sell them now

Dang.. Willing to still buy the 'tainted bottles' here (for cost of course)...

i'd imagine they'll keep them for further analysis now.. i wouldn't expect any unclaimed to be sold or given away

@glennl, I feel as though I can speak for many of us when I say, when beer is purchased, we know confounding variables exist. From the barrels used, spices, coffee beans, hops, etc. There are times where minor or in some cases, major issues arise and are aware that it may, or may not be handled by the brewery. The full refund was totally unnecessary, but thank you nonetheless.

Personally, I plan to respend that money during my next visit to the brewery. Thank you again for going above and beyond.

wow just saw the email and read it. @glennl and Mike did not need to do this, but it goes so far to show how much they appreciate their customers here. People can go on an complain about how things are released and all of that, but honestly this is completely unexpected and if anyone finds a reason to complain they are absurd. I haven't opened any yet, but either way I will be happy and did not expect any type of refund and wouldn't have taken it if it wasn't automatic.

I will be spending this money right back at Kane for sure and adding extra money on my tips while I am there as well. For all the negative that happens in this community, this right here has blown me away.
