They wanted them destroyed so you couldn't turn around and mail them out to California and that person walk in and trade in for jtr

My guess is they wanted the bottles smashed because people were trading for empty bottles to swap for JTR. Honestly, that's a smart move on their part.

I understand that must have been annoying, but they had to avoid loop holes and ways for people to get multiple compensations, you know?

I think the picture thing was to prove that you actually had the bottles in your possession. I mean, I suppose anybody could have taken a picture of bottles on a counter and said it was theirs. If you then have bottles on a counter, then have the same bottles broken on the same counter, it pretty much proves that you actually have possession and aren't just using some photo from the internet.

Dude come on... Bottle Logic is a California locals brewery first. Just like how all other micro breweries nationwide are locals first. The vast majority of Bottle Logic's patronage are local consumers. While other customers from wherever in the world are more than welcome to imbibe and enjoy when visiting, you can't fault them for not being able to assist you or making you jump through hoops when you're on the other side of the country, well outside of their consumer base. BL didn't make you take those bottles to New York with you, and vice versa if I went to New York and brought bottles here to California. The fact that they even refunded you just for showing some photos actually is a testament to how dope Lindsay and the crew are.

It is unfortunate you had to go through that, but like I stated, there isn't really a perfect system that works for everyone. If they refunded eventbrite purchases to consumers, how do they account for the MANY bottles that were traded off over the weeks? How do you account for all the dishonest people that exploit the system by taking pics of others bottles? Kane caught the problem right away which is easier to deal with, where if I'm not mistaken, the public and BL didn't know about the infection until weeks/month out from release, which makes the situation a little more difficult to resolve.

    Isn't this pretty normal?

Mainly, that way, no one drinks the infected BV. I drank some, it's horrible. It's assurance that no one tries their beer, decides BL is a horrible, horrible brewery, and spreads that word around.

Secondly, being out of state, a refund window was like two months long. At that point, it was easy to be able to get bottles. Hell, I saw people in the trade line with more than a case. Heck, other trade sites had empties listed for trade. BL doesn't want to be taken advantage of.

Thirdly, you got your refund right?

Fourth point though, Lindsay has been perfectly helpful to me during their Eventbrite sales. F'd up twice, fixed by her twice.

And plus, who doesn't love a good opportunity to smash stuff? That's the whole reason I got into beer in the first place.

So, has anyone heard anything about the canned sour series (Campy Creatures or whatnot)? They were doing them once a month, so I has implicitly expected another one this month, but have not yet heard anything...

The Campy Creatures releases are about 2 months apart each. The series has been around since April and there's only been 3 releases (April, June, and August). Would guess the next one is coming up in October. I am curious about the Covalent Bond series (the new hazy IPA series they started in August) though. The Konami code IPA series was once a month so figured it'd be the same for this new series, but still no word on the second release and it's almost October.

Hello! As a few Advocates have already mentioned, my interest in getting the bottles back [or in your case, an assurance that they'd been destroyed] stemmed from the desire to ensure that no other unsuspecting folks are disappointed with bottles bought, traded, or otherwise stumbled upon out in the market.

Of course, it also ensured that we wouldn't be compensating one bottle several times over. I find that people rise to the expectations you set for them, so it doesn't thrill me to plan for the lowest common denominator. Someone still tried to swap a long-neck re-stickered bottle in though, so... you've gotta keep it all in mind. :joy:

As ever, I am always seeking to learn more and improve upon our policies and structures as applicable. I strive to be consistent in our overall approach and further available to talk through individual questions anyone might have. Y'all know how to find me.

The next Campy Creature will be unleashed near the end of October, just in time to binge-watch season two of its thematic inspiration...

The Covalent Bond series isn't necessarily restricted to Hazy IPAs, it's more of a Bottle Logic-ism to denote canned collaboration beers coming out of our brewhouse/packaging lines. [Ex: Pure Project + Bottle Logic's "Prime Evils" canned Imperial Coffee & Carolina Reaper Pepper Stout collaboration won't be a Covalent Bond entry because it's coming out of their brewhouse/packaging lines.]

Awesome, that's actually better! I dig the variation in beer styles. Can you make any kind of statement on when the next Covalent release is expected out?

Looks like low fills were done last night with no mention.. Sneaky BL! Although I don't call cm_crafted post of perfect timing as coincidence

Had them both yesterday at the TR (low fills). PiYW is another awesome batch this year, and the Spice Must Flow had an amazing aroma and flavor profile on it. VERY solid beers. Also had the luck of having Stronger than Fiction as well as the Wee Heavy (HOLY ALMONDS!) Gravity Rush on tap. Man what a day to enjoy some craft in the TR!

My fault entirely, but I did get pretty wrecked after a small taster of Byzantine Vision at the tail end of the return window. My friends thought it was worth at least smelling, and I stupidly swallowed. Regret everything the next day. That being said, the pistachios stuck around pretty nicely. Didn't go with the rest of the "newly developed" flavors though.

Next time, I'll believe what the people who made the beer says!

BL has been pretty consistent about pouring low-fill bottles a few days before the release.

Not saying they haven't been, just surprised I didn't see any mention of it as usual.
