If the result wasn't as intended, they could have just slapped a different name on it.

Now I'm super curious as to what the "original" tastes like, because I do enjoy the current iteration.

They can't just "slap a different name'' on it without an approved label. They should have either dumped it or posted that they had a recipe tweak to it to cover their asses.

I thought approval only needs to happen if the beer is being distroed.

Their cans have been sold out of bars before like Haymaker etc, so I'd consider that being distroed. Still, they'd have to whip up a label last minute, rename and all that. I just don't see that happening. So it would have been easier to say there was a recipe tweak. But they didn't do any of that so.....

Dumped it? Why in the world would they dump a perfectly fine beer? Every batch of every beer from small craft brewers doesn't turn out exactly the same.

I really meant for my post to come off saying dumping it would have been stupid, rather to just say the beer may be different and not renaming when it comes to turn around time for the beer to be finished. The only reason to dump a beer is if something went wrong and it was no good, like they did with their original batch of Debbie Downer. Obviously the beer is fine, but many complaints of it not being the same beer as in flavor and appearance.

The beer is different enough from the usual that part of me questions if they actually forgot an ingredient or something.

That's why on the OH standpoint it would have been wise for them to say "We messed around with this batch, more west coast style" etc or whatever. I didn't buy the beer so I don't know how different it is other than seeing untappd pictures of a clearer beer. But, I just hate when brewers release a beer that's totally different than previous batches. If it's not the same beer, it's not the same beer, period.

I would be upset if I went to my favorite restaurant, ordered my favorite dish of theirs and it be completely different than I've had it in the past and they still describe it as it being the same dish on their menu. Consistency is a good thing.

Will be visiting OH next month and just wondering if the new taproom translates into a less crowded experience??? Planning to hit OH on a Wednesday at 5pm right when they open ... in my past visits, OH would always get jammed packed due to the micro size of their space. Thanks!

The new taproom is pretty huge and is generally pretty chill during the week, you can even pull up a stool to the bar when things are pretty slow.

    Haze or bust bro

I'm just shocked that there was a (albeit it minor ) argument of dumping a beer vs. the "difficulty" of prepping a new label. Based almost solely on untappd pictures.

If I can walk up at 12 tomorrow with a minimal line and only get Hop Showers I will still be very happy.
