Was reminded again last night of how amazing that Everything Pretzel at Masthead is. Absurd. Pumpkin Underverse is also a banger, if you're into that sort of thing.

 

wet hopped Harvest pale ale is on at Bottlehouse

 

Had it last night. Was really good, albeit not the best I've had in the city.

 

It's excellent, but $21/4, oof.

Cincy peeps! There's finally a brewery in my neighborhood! I feel like we've finally arrived. Mark Twain said he wanted to be in Cincinnati when the world ended because we're 20 years behind. Well, he may have been right, but the uber-local brewery fad has hit Sayler Park ahead of schedule!

If you're familiar with the West side, it's down along the river, right next to Cabana On The River restaurant. Grand opening was today (Fri.). It's a real nice place with 10 taps of their own beers. Tried 2 beers; the West Coast IPA was flawless, but a bit underwhelming. Their Scottish Ale was really tasty, IMO.

Obviously, I wish them luck and hope it works out. C'mon down and check it out!

 

Being a Cincinnati native, I am a bit surprised by the location. That wouldn't be my first choice. (I'm a west side native, but Coverdale not sayler park. Sister's babys' Daddy is though - so got to know it well over the years.)

 

Is there information yet on whether bcbs will be in ohio or not this year?

 

Winking Lizard had an event for some special BCBS barrels and the rep there said we will definitely be getting it. There will be some kickoff parties around the area, he couldn’t say what variants we would get but Ohio is definitely getting it.

 

It's supposed to! I would mostly look at any place that does large GI business because I'm also told that's the only way a store is getting any.

Picked up a "Crack the Skye" last week, so apparently that hit Ohio. Never had it, but seems to be a fairly big beer to hit shelves here? Idk I've never really followed 3F till recently. Anyone had it and what's the comparison to something like Dark Lord?

 

I had it last year and it's one of their best beers. Actually the gf just grabbed me a bottle a few minutes ago!

Have had it a few times on draft and was very happy to see it distributed to OH in bottles. Picked up a handful around the Cleveland area as well. Hope you enjoy!

 

It's their best non-DL variant beer. I hope you like coffee. Not the sugar bomb DL is.

 

Sounds right up my alley. Now I'm kinda pissed I didn't grab more than one. Maybe still some floating around the area.I had just grabbed it out of curiosity when I picked up Black Mask and Champion Ground.
