Glad I stopped going to Troon when he started the crowler thing...used to love the experience prior to that, good luck to Alex but I for one will not go back until the crowler debacle has ceased.

Sorry to hear that some of you got burned by the BS he pulled with this weekend's stated counts and then changing them, that's unacceptable.

Thought for a moment, that whole sentence was the name of the beer. Based on prior names, it's not that far fetched.

When he's sold out of to-go beer, I go the the tavern and drink the beer on draft. It's not terrible. You guys should try it instead of complaining about "wasting time and gas money."

Sitting in a great restaurant and enjoying fantastic food with superb beer. You are such a philistine.

Someone sounds like a pretentious piece of work...

    It's a young business finding it's way.

I hate to see the animosity towards Troon. In reality the only thing that he did "wrong" was neglect to send out an update saying "Sold more than we thought yesterday. There are only 150 crowlers for Saturday." Although that would have been met with complaints as well.
I'm sure the over sale was a result of not wanting to send people away empty handed.

@OGShotzy is so right. Go to the tavern and enjoy the day. It is ok to drink beer without a can.

I think he did update the Instagram post indicating that only 160 cans were available. Not sure how late on Saturday morning, though. I understand that some people might have already been en route.

Other than that, great post. His intentions were clearly good.

Sammy's right. This is a restaurant (and a good one) that happens to brew great beer. They don't brew a lot of it. It's not located in an industrial park where you can drive up an load up. I'll guarantee that if you make a reservation for dinner, then you'll have great food and great beer in a really nice setting. If you can take a crowler home, as well, that's even better. This place has a different business model than Kane or Carton or Conclave or Magnify. Enjoy it for what it is.

@tynian16 Pretentious? Hardly dude, get out from behind the keyboard and relax. My opinion, you don't like it? Too bad.

Normally I would but I had other things to do that day so making a quick stop to pick up a crowler is a lot easier than sitting down at the tavern for a few beers. Not everyone has the time for that.

Reporting in for science. Cracked a crowler of Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean that I sat on for 3 weeks (canned 8/29). Held up quite well. Beer was excellent, maybe a little less sweet than when fresh. No off flavors or oxidation. Carb was perfect. To sum things up, at least some beers Troon brews can hold for a few weeks or more once crowlered imho.

I did the same for Eggregrious Editing Error, had one 8/12 and the other 9/2. Held up just fine. Still have one each of dragged into autumn and grammar gaffe in the beer fridge that I'll wait at least another week to try, unless I miss out on this weeks release!

    Man those 250 went fast!

Million dollar question, did Alex and Tom reserve some crowlers for tomorrow and keep it on the DL to avoid overselling as they did the past few weeks?

The fact that he posted "we are sold out for tonight" leads me to believe it's a possibility. I'm just guessing though, so please take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Hate to double post, but I called it. 200 more crowlers available tomorrow. Good on Troon for spreading the love.

Anyone who is driving a distance to get a limited amount of beer should well be expecting they might miss out.
