Whatever Cosmic costs is worth it in my opinion. One of the best in Chicagoland. Definitely picking up some this weekend.

I also preferred Ryders to Radio Swan.

First time having cosmic and my lord this could easily stand up to the elites in NE. WOW great job Corridor.

My first trip to Corridor and loved the experience. GD American Beauty was playing on the record player and the atomosphere was super chill. Wish I would have had time to try the food. Snagged some crowlers and had a pour of Cosmic Juicebox... dear jeebus that is tasty. Not regularly in Chicago but must make my way back when I come down for FOBAB.

I know Squeeze It is coming up in a few weeks. In the meantime, what's coming up next?

Swung bye Corridor again today to pick up two more crowlers of Cosmic Juice Box. The two I picked up on Wednesday with the plan of keeping until football Sunday didn't even survive 24hrs. Ended up deciding to open one of the crowlers and do a head to head comparison versus a 10 day old Trillium Mosaic DH Fort Point. Both of them are around same abv (6.6% for Mosaic Fort Point and 6.8% for Cosmic Juice Box) so I figured good comparo.

I just want to premise this with the fact that I've always tended to prefer true 'top tier' New England IPAs (from New England area) to anything that has come out of Chicagoland in that style. As many of you have read in the past, when someone had tried insinuating a beer from Chicagoland is 'better' than an offering from a New England brewery (Trillium, Tree House, Alchemist, Hill Farmstead, Bissell…) I was ready to jump in on the side of New England brewery and defend them.

… Not today. I had the Mosaic DH Fort Point followed by the Cosmic Juice Box, and I preferred the Cosmic Juice Box. Mosaic DH Fort Point was tropical tasting, flavorful, with a drier finish. But Cosmic Juice Box just delivered a more tropical fruit basket taste. More complex aroma and the feel was fuller. Mosaic DH Fort Point felt like an IPA, whereas Cosmic Juice Box was more like drinking a DIPA (in a good way, flavor wise). This might be first time I preferred a Chicagoland offering to a New England top tier offering. Chicagoland really has come a long way in the last couple of years (in my mind). I'm not saying one is better than the other, but I prefer the Chicagoland offering in this case and that's really something for me.

Good analysis. Enjoying a crowler right now. The one thing we have to keep in mind with these comparisons is storage/temperature/travel. That isn't to say which beer is better, just that the variables make head to head comparisons super difficult (slightly different story for the beers that a driven across states in an iced cooler).

In any case, glad you're enjoying CJ like I am

I've never understood the Trillium comparisons. I always found their beers closer to TG stuff, Mosaic Fort Point reminds me of Pompei as a beer more than it does resemble any of the NEIPAS from FR or Corridor...

Thanks for sharing! One of the great joys of CJB is that Galaxy has been so damn rare lately as a prominent hop. I think that makes this beer stand out so much more as the hop combo is a murderer's row

Also, just cracked a crowler of CJB and this version is more enjoyable than the first version which didn't stand out to me. I'd still take H2H or VH over this, but I'm getting the sweet fruit notes subtly popping through the hoppy edge and so this is enjoyable.

Man. Had some solid offerings from trillium recently and seriously this is right there with them. May I say I prefer this to trilliums counterparts?

I was just out East coast for a wedding and had a fair share of trillium including DDH Melcher, DDH Sleeper, and Heavy Mettle. I love Trillium beer but in most of their brews there is a malty finish or at least a bit of bitterness at the end. CJB is just pure fruit juice and no bitterness. It always comes down to personal preference, but I would lean towards CJB towards my preference. I know others don't prefer the sweetness.

Stopped in over the weekend - didn't have too much time but had a Cosmic Juice Box which was very good, maybe a tiny bit muddy. Gotta say the star of the show was the frites, maybe the best I ever had. The service was also good despite their being very busy.

I feel like there is no reason to chase the NEIPA releases from the NE any more, and I've largely put trading on the back-burner for at least a month or two now. It's really just not worth the time and effort, especially when I can just dip into several spots in the city or make a laid back weekend trip out to the burbs and get everything I'm looking for. The less I have to deal with horrible Monkish hype-train fanboys the better.

Cracked Ryders On The Haze last night...not their best effort IMO, but strong nonetheless. Maybe the best beer that is prominently Cryo-hopped to my palate (that I'm aware of...maybe all these beers are Cryo bombs & I just don't know).

Mouthfeel was flawless, as usual. While enjoyment may vary beer-to-beer, you always know your getting a quality New England IPA from these guys; they're the most consistent in Chicago right now.

Most consistent mouthfeel for sure. I'd take FR as being the most consistent brewery in general though. Every NE beer they put out has been awesome. Some of Corridors has been a miss for me. They still are my #2 though!

Ryder's had a ton of fruit flavor, I thought this was a winner if you like DIPAs...If this was sub 7%, I'd drink it all day.

I'd rank Corridor ahead on NEIPAs- they are putting out way more, but I agree that if you count in the other beers styles, FR is probably ahead.
