    Hey Guys,

I have been noticing how difficult it is to find out info about special release beer. It seem like Brewery make it very difficult to get the info you need like Time/Date/Price. Since this is the time of year that many Brewery are releasing their good beers, I want to plan on making sure I get a chance to buy some bottles. Beers like El Gordo, Abraxas and Bourbon County Stout. All of these Breweries are within a days drive for me. Why don't these Breweries clear post this information on their website? Wouldn't it make sense to advertise this sort of information? So that they can attract more customers to their events.

How is a brewery going to post the time, date and price of a beer that is being distributed? If it's brewery release then the date, time and price are usually released when the sale is announced. Goose Island does say that Bourbon County is released in November (and with any research, you could find that Black Friday is when most retailers start selling it). Perennial also says a November release for Abraxas on their website. Clearly you aren't looking very hard.

It's widely known that the BCBS shitstorm is the day after Thanksgiving; aka Black Friday. Once the beer leaves the brewery though, brewers have little control over when beer actually hits the shelves. best option is to have few good stores you trust, and follow them on social media, or get on their email list if they have one.

I don't know if I am being obtuse or being captain obvious but if you have specific beer releases in mind it would be as simple as a search, here and google, for the most updated info on every one of them. If you are looking to be kept aware of local releases in general, at least around here they all are well announced on brewery social media pages

Time date and price is info that you yourself have to source by getting to know your local shopkeeper. They are, in fact, the keyholders for the knowledge you seek.

Breweries DO announce virtually all their special releases. After that it's out of their hands and up to the distributors and retailers to advertise if they have it, and when. Do you really expect a brewery to keep up with thousands of cases of beer going out all over the country?

No, When I was referring to special releases, I had in mind the beers that don't make it to the beer stores. Example El Gordo, Abraxas, Hunahpu. Stuff you have to buy at a Brewery on a certain day. That sort of info is hard to come by.

If only there were a web site full of beer geeks talking about beers, reviews and all things beer. Hmmm. Try the local forums here. Go to the brewery sites to the "find beer" section. " Like" whatever FB stores you go to. New at social media? Living in a cave perhaps? Go to a store for their tastings. Meet some folks who work there. Follow said FB for the store. I'm freakin' really old and can figure this stuff out.

Try google searching for the beers/releases, I was able to find info on all the beers you listed in a few seconds. Hunahpu's Day has it's own website and even an app.

Glad it also only took others a few seconds to find every piece of most current info on every single release. I was beginning to worry I was being a bit flip, or missing some point, in my response to OP to do a search.

What next, someone will come on BA and ask where they can find info about the tasting notes and quality of specific beers?

Be sure to follow all the breweries you're interested in, and stores near you, on FB and IG. Beer releases are always announced on social media, I find.

Yeah, breweries are NOT trying to keep this info a secret. They, shockingly, want to sell their product.
