Picked up a couple cans of Falling Water today. Been eyeing releases from BW as they've been surfacing down here in San Diego but haven't tried anything from them to date.

This one is polarizing as it is an experimental release, I liked it. I recommend also grabbing cans of Picnic Lightning IPA when you see them as well as Starfish IPA, these are the two go-to's in their line-up that they brew pretty regularly.

    Cheers,

I'll never understand people saying things like "a palate i trust". All that says is that you and they like the same things, nothing more.

Another note, Falling Water is good and that can art is fire

Eh, I think you can trust some one's palate even if you don't always agree with them. After all, there's probably some sports analyst, academic, or writer who you trust but whose opinion occasionally conflicts with yours.

Personally, I trust a person's palate if I trust his or her approach. Namely, is this person genuinely interested in thinking about and discussing beer? Does this person try many different styles of beer and judge each on its own merit? Do this person's reviews effectively discriminate between different beers to the extent that we expect there to be a difference?

So, I trust the palate of Chris Quinn, even if I can't say whether I agree with him since most beers he reviews I haven't tried. There's other people whose palates I trust, and generally, it has nothing to do with whether they agree with me or not. Granted, I'm sure a lot of people gravitate to reviewers with like tastes, but I think a lot of people don't necessarily.

went to BW today since I had to stop by the old homestead (I guess). Falling Water is definitely one of my least favorite IPAs they've made. That being said, Ask the Dust, which also appeals to the John Fante fan in me, is absolutely fantastic and only available on draft

I feel like breweries are just getting lazy with West Coast style. They want to make the same old boring shit that doesn't sell. The only standouts that I can think of are Nobles showers series and Kern Citra Double but Kerns batches seem to have fallen off lately. The west needs to get onboard with the newer hops and turn up the dry hopping. You can have a clear beer but that pine cone flavor isnt doing well anymore.

I knew I loved BW when they let a few Porsche cars into their taproom floor. That day there must’ve been about 100 cars it was a dream come true for me! I roll with a social car club sometimes I am dying for all of us to get our cars together and hit that spot up. Great beer, great location and perfect parking setup.

Brouwerij West won me over when they let me park my Ford Taurus in the taproom.

I think I'm in the minority, but I am not impressed with their NE IPAs whatsoever. Wouldn't say they suck, but their completely one dimensional cans of pineapple juice, and all taste the same to me. I keep trying and hoping I feel differently. More for you guys!
